<< anybody out there now how to stop excessive sweating? >>

There are two ways to solve this problem. (1) Treat the symptom (i.e. stronger deoderent) (2) Treat the problem (i.e. working too hard) :)

I have the same problem, but with my hands. If I'm nervous you'll literally see a very small puddle forming in my palm.

Now that I've left you with that wonderful picture, I think I'm going to play a game of QIII, where my mouse usually is left convered with nice oily sweat. To tell you the truth I don't know how/where to get this threated, but I'm sure there's some sort of medication you can get from your family doctor; they have everything these days.

There is just plain deodorant and there is anti-persipirant. Anti-persipirant uses aluminum. Excessive amounts of aluminum have been found in people suffering from alzheimers. Just a correlation as of now, but it makes you wonder.

Me, I just use deodorant and wear undershirts. Undershirts seems to help limit my sweating. You might want to give it a try. I've found anti-perspirants to be ineffective anyway.

if you can afford it, i hear you can zap the sweat glands on your arm pits w/ laser surgery, like they do w/ hair follicles, so they cease to function forever.

otherwise, you can just wear two shirts. usually a tshirt underneath a extra bigger sized longsleeve shirt or something thats really loose so that your sweat will not affect the outer shirt, only the inner one.

make sure you remember to spray some brand name cologne on the shirt or on yourself if you tend to sweat and stink alot. if you use the cheapie cologne stuff, it will not last you throughout the day. so spend the extra bucks on the good stuff and you will not regret it. my favorite is hugo boss or ralph lauren sport.

"i hear you can zap the sweat glands "

I suffer from an extreme case of hyperhidrosis. I used different deoderants, a topical drug called Drysol, and pills. The last resort is the surgery. I had it in May of 1999. They go in a clamp, not burn, the nerves off in between the glands. This is now done so the surgery can be reversed. After the surgery I suffered from a severe case of compensatory surgery. Even though I stopped sweating under my arms, on my arms, hands and face, I started sweating ten times worse on my back, chest, legs, and everywhere else. My hands are so dry that I had to use Neutrogena hand cream every day all day. I took medication to try to control the excessive compensatory sweating and it either didnt work or the side effects were insanely horrible.

Due to the extreme nature of first surgery, I had the surgery reversed in April of 2000. It can take the nerves over 6 months to heal...If they heal at all. I now sweat under my arms and slightly on my face again. I still sweat badly under my chest, legs, back and thighs. My hands are still excessively dry but they are getting better.

I do NOT recommend the surgery to anyone. It causes more problems than it solves.
