Are hyper drives any good? I have seen this one.

It seems to have two flaws though. You can only go up to 64 MB which for storage space is not a lot. Also when the PC is off it uses a battery so if the battery dies you lose everything stored on it.

Does anybody have one and if so what do you think of it?

This is better: Acard 9010.

Raid0 with itself for double bandwidth. CF card for backup. Optional external power to maintain if you shut down system.

Still limited to 64GB DDR2 - and those 4GB sticks are expensive.

Overall you're better off just buying an Intel X25-M or OCZ Vertex and calling it a day.
