Hyper-Cheapass i5 build

I need a new PC, and the new Sandy Bridge stuff is finally out. I have a somewhat small budget, but I think I can do it for about $700 plus bits I have handy. Here's what I'm looking at:

-Core i5 2500k - $230
-Asus P8P67 Pro - $180
-EVGA GTX 460 Superclocked Video Card- $130 AR

-GEiL Value PLUS 2x2GB PC1600 CAS8 -$45
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820144461
-Samsung SpinPoint F3-HD103SJ -$52
http://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php...D103SJ-1TB-SATA2-7200rpm-32MB-Hard-Drive&c=CJ

Total: $655 out of pocket (plus about $30 in shipping.)

Stuff from my old PC:
-Zerotherm NV-120 heatsink
-Corsair 600W PSU
-Crappy case

I might also buy a new case from Newegg.

The Rosewill Challenger is a pretty decent budget case. If you think you may need a new one (or just want one) then I'd go with that.

That is the case I have. Only negative is (for me) the side panels are hell to get off. They always seem stuck and I need to use a screw driver i nthe back to kind of pry them open.

Hah, my problem is they don't get back on very easily 😛 There's also no built in cable management but for the money it's hard to beat.

Nice rig. It's possible though that you could save some money by getting a cheaper mobo, and put that money into a better GPU instead. I'm sure you will be happy with it either way.

Edit: And if you do look for a new case the Coolermaster Haf-912 is the same price and is a superior case IMO.
