I decided that I am going to be overclocking my i5 2500k. I bought the Hyper 212+ and an extra fan in order to make a push/pull setup

How do I set up this push pull configuration? I've never done this before. Can someone show me pictures preferably? I'm not sure which way to point the fans. Should they point towards the RAM? Or towards the bottom and top of the case? I am very confused here..I appreciate your help! Thanks!

Also is it bad to use that fan with the hyper 212+ fan? They are different brand names but same size (120mm)

Whichever way you prefer. You can put it in a way that it blows horizontally or vertically each with its own pros and cons. The horizontal approach(pointing towards the RAM as you would call it) is much better as you're taking colder air from the front of the casing and exhausting it at the back where a 120mm fan should exhaust all the hot air.
 
So if both fans are blowing air towards the back of the case to be exausted, why is it called push pull? Aren't the fans facing the same direction? It should be called pull pull or push push
 
It's called push pull because one fan is pushing the air through the HSF and the other is pulling it through the HSF.

Cool thanks. Also after installing this, I would like to see if my temperatures are improving. I also want to be able to control the fan speed or maybe set it to automatic so that if the CPU is under load, the fan will increase the RPM's automatically. What software is it that people use to do this? I see people do it all the time, just not sure how they do it.

Does not matter. As long as you connect the 3/4 pin header on to the CPU_FAN or SYS_FAN, the motherboard will automatically regulate your fan speed according to the load. It is better to leave the regulating to the motherboard instead of software tweaking.
 
you should be able to set RPM/temp limits in your BIOS for each fan(if it's a decent enough board)

or speedfan if you want to do it inside Windows
 
Most MB's come with software to adjust fan speed automatically. My ASUS is set to "quiet" mode and still auto OC's to a stable 4.4Ghz at 51c with the 212 evo.
