Hyper 212+ and AM4

Currently in the process of getting a new (cheap) build together.

I just want to know if the Hyper 212+ (the OG) with the mounting kit will work. I can't find any information on it working with the 212+ but see it works with every other "variation" of the Hyper 212+ (evo, etc)

they have a specific mounting kit they sell for the 212. I ended up selling mine (OG 212) and getting a Scythe Mugen 5 rev b

Almost positive mine is the OG plus as well since I recall never seeing any mentions of the specific model.

It does work with the mounting kit. I had to buy it off ebay since it seems like they didn't have any kits anymore? The big drawback is the cooler only mounts in one direction and that direction blocks one of the ram slots. There's barely enough clearance for me to squeak ram into the second slot with the fan removed. But the first slot is a no go even if I mounted the cooler after the ram, unless maybe I had a stick with no heatspreader on it...which I don't.

Okay, that sounds good.

I'll probably just get a new cooler for like 25 bucks or somewhere in that range since I'm giving the parts I'm swapping out to the gf.

Cost of the kit + getting a stock haswell cooler will end up costing about the same as just buying a new cooler so

I ended up going with the Scythe mugen 5 rev b for several reasons.
reviews were good.
$48 shipped on amazon
ease of install

Running Prime 95 i'm at 70c and I'm overclocked to 3.9ghz on my R5 1600 on my Thermaltake suppressor F51
200mm intake 140mm exhaust are the only two fans I have in the case. Rest are all covered by sound dampers

I think that the DeepCool Gammax 400 supports AM4 socket out-of-the-box. At least I hope so, I bought a couple of them back on BF 2018, haven't used them yet.
