LOL who teh fuck would do such a thing !?

No sh!t! The thyroid produces hormones that regulate our physiological functions. Risking a healthy thyroid is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard of, and a damaged/inefficient thyroid requires hormone therapy (levothyroxine) for the rest of one's life.

This is a rumor among people in the internet. You can look up obesity studies from years ago where patients were given T3 for years and their thyroid was back to normal within 3-4 weeks.

If it helps motivate me to lose weight by taking it plus diet and cardio then whats the problem? Being a fat shit the rest of my life doesnt help either. I should've gotten checked by the doc before I started cause I think my thyroid was screwed before. I've always have very slow metabolism. Always feel sluggish. My grandmother and my aunt (her daughter) both have severe hypothyroidism. So it does run through our family. But since taking this drug I've actually felt a lot better.

But as i said earlier, as long as you dont take it for extended periods then you will be fine.

And this thread shows how much misimformation/pseudo-science there in out there on nutrition...
might as well throw my non-expert opinion in to the mix ;)
I'd suggest just focusing on diet/excercise (which it sounds like you're doing) - and then take the pill - but dont really expect much more than a boost in engergy - when you lose weight, attribute it to the diet/excercise (the hard work =) rather than the pill - IMO fat lose pills act as a good placebo - gives me a bit more motivation to hit the gym, but more importantly, and the only reason I take them, is it gives me an energy boost when I take it before my workout in the moring - and that makes the difference between pushing myself or ending my workout early. I almost always do a little more when I take a diet pill (or any energy pill) before my workout- as for losing weight by themselves, I have no idea if they help or not, but I'm leaning towards "not much, if at all".

There are real pills out there that help burn fat. To think otherwise would be ignorant. But most of the stuff you see on market shelves are no good.

Can you drink alcohol?

Do you have to work out like a maniac?

etc.

I'd have good results on ECA stacks. 20/200 and a kids aspirin.

It's an aide, not a magic bullet though. You can do anything in moderation, but that would keep just about anyone in shape if they could.

I trained like a madman during the week and took weekends to cheat and drink.

True, but the OP clearly has no business messing around with clen, T3, DNP, or any of that stuff. I'm not sure why people are mentioning things like that in this thread, when it seems the OP is just looking for basic diet/fat loss advice.

I have posted this 1000 times, and don't have the text file to do a convenient cut and paste like I normally do, so I will just say this:

1. losing fat ultimately comes from burning slightly more calories than you consume over a long period of time - this caloric deficit can come from diet, exercise, or a combination of the two

2. You NEED to start tracking what you eat each day on Fitday - I'm not a fan of vague advice like "cut out all soda" or "don't eat after X PM". You can achieve far better results if you actually track what you eat and your weight each morning.

3. Visit the board in my sig - there is tons on info on there about losing fat, supplements, workouts, etc. The members are very helpful and are always willing to help a beginner.

I decided on the Hardcore. I can't wait to start it tomorrow. I am also going to track what I eat. I have a flat tummy, but for a girl to get a six pac it is three - four times as hard as it would be for a guy. I only want it to help block fat before I eat, so when I do workout the muscles are toning and coming more into play that just losing weight. At 5 ft 3 and 115 lbs. I don't think I need any more weight loss.

I know you guys want pics, so check out....

"Toning" is a myth. You increase definition by losing fat, and the purpose of lifting weights is to increase muscle size and strength. You cannot change the shape of a muscle through exercise.

Do you do any situps to build your abs, eg. incline situps with weights?

Honestly, I know what I want them to look like, I really don't know what steps to take to do it. If you look at my pic that is on my front page of myspace it is only a few months old. You tell me what I should do?

You're thin but if you want a 6-pack, you need to do more than cut body fat. You need to start building the muscles up to give them bulk and shape, so that there is actually a 'pack' there. Doing situps on an incline situp bench holding a plate or barbell at your chest is a great way to build them up. It will be kind of ridiculous if that is all your workout entails tho.

AFAIK alcohol shouldn't be even considered a possibility if you are serious about a six pack.

Alcohol, while essentially made up of empty calories, is fine in moderation. I drink one to two times per week, and have yet to see it pack on any amount of weight.

7 people in the office did the program last year. They all reported that the exercise did them more good than the pills.

Age and genetics are probably the reason why.

Most males have a very hard time keeping a six pack even if they had one in their teens/20's. Also most of those that I have seen brag about a six pack are skinny little fuks with just their abs showing through. To me a six pack has some mass to it.

Even in my best shape at around 10% BF I have more a 4 pack than a six pack. However, I am usually massive with good definition and vascularity. It's freaky looking though and I look much better at 15% ish BF...I can dip into higher BF's and still look in good shape.

I love beer, but it's really bad news if a six pack is a goal. Since my late 20's my goals are to just stay fit and strong.

People should stick to what works for them though, to figure this out is a lot of trial and error. I tried the food logging and it didn't really show me anything different. I don't really get into food though, for me it's more making sure I eat enough when I am training. It does work for many, as does portion control which many of the pre-package food diets are really based on.

People like to whine about how you have to eat whole foods only, drink just water, don't do supplements.

I can't carry enough food around when I am even on maintenance so I supplement with shakes a couple times a day. glut and creatine work great for me and a good post workout sugar / protein shake has worked well for me. I take a ton of vitamins and minerals as well when training. All of these have be training longer and harder than without. I have tried a ton of things that did nothing or even made me feel like crap.

ECA stacks work great for me though. I am able to drop weight insanely on it. I do train and diet as well during the phase, but the ECA seems to help me alot more than others.

My biggest lose was 86lbs in 3 months. I did lose about 25lbs in muscle I have not been able to get back since (I was 190lbs ripped in my 20's, now I am around 175lbs in decent shape...165 would be ripped)

At about 13% bf I had a 6 pack. I'm probably a bit lower and it is still rock solid and visible. It's about training your abs correctly. This way your abs aren't 'flat' but they 'bulk out'. Think about a cobble street. The cobble stick out, this is how my abs are through the training I do.

Stay away from the harder stuff, LOL @ CLEN for a person like this. MADNESS.

A big and VERY simple thing is to decrease the amount of OVERALL carbs you eat. Decrease by a bit and it adds up over a week. Cut more if you can. It is NOT EASY for some. Eat smaller and more frequent meals if you can. Avoid as much sweets, sugary and generally 'luxory' foods as you can.

Try and eat as clean as you can on your 'cheat days'. It is NOT a license to go crazy with food.

If you want that body you can do it. Just how much do you want it?

I had it before I had my son. I just want it back. It was pretty natural before. I played sports 3-4 times a week for 3-4 hours each day. My body was just natural. I'm in great shape now and just want that look.

So what is acceptable as in terms of food that will achieve this goal: Steak (X-Rare!!!), Seafood, what?

What do you have to eliminate?

Please refer to this thread:

I realize the thread is called "what a bodybuilder eats", but a more appropriate name would be "what people eat who want to make noticeable changes to their physique".

Also, as I mentioned in my previous post, one of the best things you can do is start tracking exactly what you eat each day on Fitday - it's hard to consistently lose fat when you have no idea exactly how much you are eating to begin with.

In this case, following vague advice like "cut out soda" is not going to produce as good of results as following a more methodical plan that involves knowing how many calories you are consuming each day.

And like I said before, if you are really serious about this, I would encourage you to just visit the board in my sig. Even though it is called "wannabebig", not all of the members on there are trying to get "big". Many are just people looking to lose fat and get into good shape.
