hydroxycut anyone?

anyone use this? tried it? does it work?

the same buddy that finally got my ass into the gym is telling me that i should get on this to help cut a few extra pounds, and help with the weight training.

it would be taken in conjunction with nitrotech protein... if that makes a difference.

I've tried it, didn't do crap for me. Althought I didn't use it like I was supposed to on a steady basis, kept forgetting to take it =/ It's different for everyone though, but I wouldn't try it again. Go with Xenadrine EF or Trim-Spa before Hydroxycut unless you're a hardcore bodybuilder. If that's the case, make sure that you take protein shakes along with this because it goes after fat as well as lean muscle.

I just recommend exercising. I find it funny that the people that use this are usually unhealthy in the first place. Most of these types of supplements raise your blood pressure so it can be very dangerous if you have any sort of raised blood pressure.

assuming it uses ephedra/extract/whatever..

i believe it 'raises your metabolism' by raising your blood preassure 2-4% ? i remember reading that somewhere, natrual clem (sp?) being like 10-15% and DNP being like 40%

i could be wrong

it's ephedra free... or so it says, but then it claims that it 'boosts your metabolism'

The best supplements are good old fashioned food!

I can guarantee you if I take 2 people, with one person making no dietary changes except the inclusion of Ephedrine related products (Xenadrine, Hydroxycut, etc) and the other taking no dietary products, but simply adding additional (healthy) meals per day (6-7); the person who increased his or her metabolism naturally through food would be the overall winner in terms of bodyfat loss and over metabolic rate.

Bottom line: Using food to increase metabolism is the second best thing you can do for a healthy body. Using food combined with strength training (muscle building) is the #1 best thing you can do for metabolism. Ditch the thermogenics and learn to use healthy food and exercise. Trust me on this one

If you want to lose weight, how about diet and cardio? I'm amused to no end by morons
that don't have the willpower to eat a proper diet and bust their ass on the treadmill..
yet they pop diet pills all day. And they will never make a signifigant change in their
physique because they don't have the determination to do the hard work required to make a change!
Besides........ taking diet pills is harmful in the long term
because the massive amounts of caffeine contained in them will desensitize your central
nervous system from caffeine..meaning after long term use when you ARENT taking caffeine you feel
like total sh*t. In addition, some thermogenics like ephdra or clenbuterol will disable
the conversion of T4 to T3 which means you have a less active thyroid following
usage of said thermogenic. This will cause you to have somewhat of a rebound following
use, since the thyroid is what determines the bodily metabolic rate.

And to answer the question, browsing the ingredients of hydroxycut i'm inclined to say that it sucks.
The only ingredients there that could remotely help you burn fat are synephrine and caffeine.

can't agree more. if you wanan lose weight do it naturally, not with the aid of drugs. they can mess you up. i remember several years ago there was some kind of diet drug that caused a life threatening disease in some people.

my bro has been taking xenedrine, and used to take hydroxycut. He tells me that they both do about the same thing, make his heart beat and give him a littl eenergy boost. Makes him sweat a bit too. Bottom line is if u don't tell him which one hes taking, he doesn't know the difference.

The fact that he's getting you to use nitrotech means he doesn't know very much.

If you can't shed pounds eating 6 small meals a day consisting of lean protein and fiber, I'll eat my hat. If in 16 weeks you havent transfomed your body by including strength training and a moderate amount of cardio, I'll eat your hat!

Tried it. One week of constipation to prove it. I haven't seen one person I know who took this crap product that lost weight from it.

Do you have a link to prove that Clen will disable the conversion of T4 to T3?

Simple. I and many people I train with had their TSH, T3, and T4 levels tested by a physician before, during and after clenbuterol usage.
Following usage, T3 levels were nearly non-existant for all that used, without exception...and usually takes 6 weeks
to recover to normal levels.

I don't know if you are familiar with Dan Duchaine, but he also mentioned this observation in his book "Bodyopus".

But as far as scientific studies to back it, no, clenbuterol is not FDA approved in the USA and thus the studies
surrounding it are scant, at best. But there is plenty of real world and anectocdal evidence to prove this (lowered T4-t3 conversion) is the
case.

Thanks, that is all I was wondering. Yes, I am familiar with Dan Duchaine and I need to get his book.

Maybe that's the problem...too much hat eating! Do you know how much sugar is in a typical hat? 🙂
