What's that now?
Have you been raiding the siezed drugs locker again? :p

Nah, just endlessly entertaining myself with massive doses of hilarity.*

*"Hilarity" of course being heroin taken from the aforementioned seized drugs locker.

biofuels arent just for cars, they're for power generation facilities as well. lots of plants burn biofuels in addition to coal/natural gas. :p

OK...my pseudo-question was, what happens if they are right and we are no longer able to domestically grow the crops that creat bio-fuels?

That quote at the end is great.

"We made this work," says Hauger. "We're not geniuses. So why aren't they doing it?"

Kosi thinks he knows why. The answer, he says, is the big oil companies.

"They're making billions upon billions of dollars," he says. "And when this car sells, that'll go down ? to low billions upon billions."

BTW, anyone remember the electric Atom?

Electricity, FTW!

I remember Opel made a version of the Speedster that had a diesel and it could go 0-60 in I believe under 4 seconds and get about 50mpg.

Whoops. Looks like its a car that has a 155mph top speed and gets over 100mpg.

Its the Eco Speedster

What's that now?

You get mad props for following this thread and growing with it, etc. Very snarky, indeed.

This is what happens when I'm desperate for a distraction from the paper I'm writing.

I want your job...

Too bad soybeans suck for biofuels...rapeseed is MUCH better, but this country has a powerful soybean lobby.

I have to say that's NOT a bad-looking car...I wonder how they did it? Anyone recognize what car they started with?

Also, as I read it, it just sounds like they put together a diesel car. It is great that they are getting that automotive experience, but a diesel can get 50mpg easily and they don't require modification to run on ester (100% biodiesel).

naw, it's a part-time-hybrid, there's an electric motor up front.

Making a diesel that can get 50mpg AND go that fast isn't quite as easy.

I look forward to when we have organic solar panels. The best of both worlds. :)

The exterior design look like a Lotus. I think it go so fast because its light. This won't be mass produce. We would have alot of soybean farms just to get these suckers running

Maybe if efficiency was extremely high and cost of production was very low.
