wow you have 6 zones,t'stats!!

I have one thermostat, and use gate valves to control the heat to zones/loops.

Seperate zones is the best way to go. Gate valves are a waste of good brass. I wish they would outlaw gate valves. 😀

IHateMyJob2004, hit me with a PM tonight and we'll try to get it to heat properly.

See update 1 in original post.

Also,
I think I found a second problem. The heat in the basement(finished room) isn't working. 2nd failed zone valve this year, if that's the problem. WTF! I have an open floor plan menaing hte basmeent opens to the living room/kitchen area. So, the cold of the basement is causing the heat upstairs to not keep up I think. That would also help explain why the bedrooms get toasty as long as the doors are shut.

The boiler mods are helping in two ways. Taking a shower is much more fun now. I no longer get cold water! AND the temperature upstairs, while not up to where I want it is 2 degrees warmer than it was pre-mods.

I set the LOW to 170. might up that to 180 😉
