leftyman, worse part about it supposed to be almost 70 this weekend!!!
Well, today I went back in after shutting the gas and power. Completely wiped down the inside and outside of the unit. I got brave and cleaned out the three burners and cleaned out all the carbon. (BTW I used emery cloth wrapped around a screwdriver for the inside of the burners). I also sanded the flame sensor which was ompletely black with carbon. I saw what looked like a small "splinter" piece of wood in the bottom burner "tube" when I was putting it back together. It didn't seem to restrict the flame coming in, but glad I did see it! Cleaned it all up and confirmed everything is still working. Working good so far.
