I bought some, and the ones I got were Samsung chips, looked like they were pulled right out of a Dell. 😀

My customers dont know who Super Talent is, but they know the Crucial name, so I have to buy it.

Prices fluctuate. Sometimes it is cheaper to go through Froogle, other times it is not.

are the singles for $52 identical to the kits? I'm asking, because I'm confused on the whole dual-channel thing.

Yes, exactly the same.

Running memory in dual channel mode is easier than one would be led to believe. You can sometimes even run different brands of memory in dual channel mode.

In this case, you are getting the exact same thing when buying two of the single modules compared to a "dual channel" 2x1GB kit. Absolutely no difference other than the packaging.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but I don't think there'd be much, if any difference between purchasing two singles for $52 than a "kit" for $59.xx when it comes to dual-channel.
*Edit* bamacre beat me to my post...hehehe...ditto to what he said

Frys.com has Crucial Ballistix DDR2 800 for $55 AR and free shipping. Crucial's rebate is good and these are probably better RAMs if you want to overclock them.

Must be dead. The FW link takes you to the FRY's error page which then goes to the home page.

Plus, a few of us order things in such a quantity, that MIR's are worthless. 😉

Ram prices fell pretty significantly, almost overnight.

WOOT! My prediction is almost true.

I'm debating whether to get more of the HP RAM for $15 after $40 rebate or wait until this drops more. Mmmm, choices, choices...

Mmmmmm... toasty.

If I wasn't still running XP I'd upgrade to 4GB for sure 😀

It is a buck more, but you can buy two of the 1GB single modules.

I cleaned up the OP a bit, added the single module 1GB DDR2 800 links.
