Hah, wow. I'm not a rap fan but this movie was awesome. I just watched it last night and can't get that scene out of my head where they first get together in DJay's 'house'.
 
Heh, I just watched it. You knew when he walked into the bathroom after Skinny Black that things weren't going to go well.
 
I saw it in the theatre a few months ago after all the rave reviews.

Well worth it at least a rental.
 
Yea.. i knew that he would find the tape in the shitter.. but didn't know how it would turn out from there.. that was surprising.

I just rented this movie today. I hate rap, but I liked the movie. Terrence Howard is a pretty good actor.
 
Fantastic movie. One I thought would be a weak portrayal of the struggle to get put on in the music biz (I co-founded a fairly prominent indy hiphop label once upon a time). My gf sat me down and made me watch it... worlds better than what I would have assumed, even with the critical acclaim.

just saw it last night.

It was ok. I was not too happy with how many of the scenes were VERY predictable.
It really bothered me that story was trying to feed that these ppl can make Studio quaility music in matter of minutes.. Crack ho can sing so well.. and other ppl being impossibly good.

But, that scene where an older lady sings "god change my name.." THAT WAS AMAZING!!! anyone know her name? she MUST be famous with a voice/talent like that!
