It would be similar to losing a child in your pool because you didn't know basic CPR or resuscitation, it would suck but could have possibly been avoided with a little training.

And LOL at people saying let them take what they want. Robbers pointed a weapon at them, that right there is a deadly threat and shows intent to kill.

That may be the prudent assumption and the legal situation, but you obviously don't know anything about criminals.

Not everyone is psychopathic and wants to kill other humans at the drop of a dime like you. Some people are out for money, but when the situation goes bad they resort to killing.

A lot of you are defending this woman's choice to remain ignorant on how to handle a gun. What about the choice she made when her husband had been shot and her life was in danger? Clearly she didn't hate guns enough to not try to use one when the SHTF. I think some of you guys should talk with your SO's again.

"Wife a widow due to husbands love affair with guns" would be a better title.

Sounds like he was killed trying to be rambo, and put his wife in extreme danger in the process. The fact that they never killed his wife seems to suggest the invaders just wanted to do an armed robbery.

I heard a story about this man that taught his wife how to shoot his pistol. He went out and fooled around on his wife and she found out about it. She took the gun and shot him in the arm to get back at him.

Be careful who you teach to shoot your gun????

Especially if your wife is Korean.

The big question is why did he store the valuables in his house when he could have gotten a lock box at a bank? He endangered his life and his family by storing whatever he had in his house.

Seriously? They had already committed a breaking and entering with a deadly weapon, murder was only a few years difference prison wise. Why the hell is anybody defending the criminals here? The situation went bad when the criminals decided to perform a breaking and entering with a deadly weapon.

I blame the husband.

WTF was he doing watching a movie outside of his panic room.

Personally i watch all my movies in my panic room along with with sleeping.

When i am not in my panic room i wear full body armor, with two weapons and 200 rounds of ammo.

That's useless unless you're donned in camo gear. And wearing face paint.
