Hurt my lower back today...

Scarpozzi

Lifer
We got a new shipment of Dell 1650s and 2650s last week, I loaded a few up in a van and went back to get a new PowerVault JBOD... The PowerVaults are a little heavier than the servers and I ended up pulling a few muscles in my lower back. I've never done this before and I think the problem started last week when I lifted some other stuff (MichaelD, you might know what I was lifting. 😛) Anyhow, I'm in PAIN now and ended up coming home from work early and missed 2 classes because of it. How long should I expect to be in pain here and are there and stretches or anything that might help me out? I don't know much about that muscle group cause I've never had problems with it yet. Thanks.

Lift with your legs.

I learned this early in my life after repeatedly throwing out my back while using toilet.... 😉

amish 🙂
LOL.... I did lift with my legs....But like I said, I believe I had hurt it last week and this just finished the job. I had to carry the PowerVault down 2 flights of stairs to our server room...ack. I'm just going to use a dolly next time and push that thing around.

No...should I? It's really like everytime I try to stand/sit. It's like if I change positions it hurts. Not a lot of fun... I stayed in bed from 3-4:30, but I'm afraid if I sleep today I won't get any sleep tonight... I just want my back to be normal again.

Naw, I'm just trying to locate the source of the pain.

If you can, try lying on the floor with your butt up against the couch or a chair put your legs from the knee down on the seat and see if this releaves any pain.

Ice is your friend.

Get MichaelD to do all your heavy lifting. You stand there and supervise..................😛
