Take a couple of ibuprofen. Some curled stretches would help, curl into a ball, hold that position for a few seconds etc. A back rub would be a good thing too, with a warm compress.

Network chiropractic. http://www.associationfornetworkcare.com/

As a satisfied user for over five years now, I can truly say it's miraculous. Someday all MDs and chiropractors will be required to learn their diagnostic skills from the Network people.

First they graduate chiropractic school; then they go to Network school to really learn how to be effective. Few of them advertise, because word of mouth gives them more business than they can handle.

My friends:

1. Best friend swears by it.
2. Husband of friend had 2 failed back ooperations, in pain every day for 10 years. Two weeks into Network, pain-free for first time in ten years. Friend tells me it has changed their lives.
3. Daughter of another friend, age 20, improves posture dramatically.

And on and on.

My back is really sore from working out yesterday. It wasn't really sore but I think I did something ot aggrivate it this afternoon.

Don't take the above poster's advice and go to a chiroquack. It'll likely be useless, and you'd probably be just as lucky going to a masseuse as a chiro.

Chiropractors are not doctors, and they shouldn't pretend to be. You wouldn't go to a shoe salesman if you had major foot problems, so why trust your back, the one thing that keeps you standing up straight, to a guy who pounds and prods?

Go to an orthopedic physician if the pain continues past a few days.

thank you!!!

going to one of those guys is like starting smoking, once you start, you cant stop.

Take some Motrin to help with the pain, alternate ice and heat, and take it easy. Try one of those new pre-packaged hot pads, those things look cool!

O.K., the two guys who blasted chiropractors had their fun, but notice that neither one mentioned having first hand (pun intended) experience with a Network chiropractor.

We all know there are good MDs and Bad MDs, just as there are good and bad practitioners in every field, chiropractors included. However, you just can't compare Network with regular chiropractic. I may sound like I'm proseletizing, but I have no (0) vested interest in the matter, except as someone whose life was changed by Network and who has seen others whose lives dramatically improved. After witnessing miraculous things happen to people over and over, I can't help but introduce others to something that will revolutionize health care in the not-too-distant future.

Don't knock it until you've tried it. It'll make a believer out of you, too.

I like both of you even more now. for you both.

A chiroquack caused me to be paralyzed in my left arm for 5 months. I had to go to a orthopedic surgeon to fix the problem. I went to a different chiroquack (I know, stupid of me) about a year later due to some sport injuries, and he messed me up almost as bad as the first one, but no paralysis.

None of the doctors I work with would ever see a chiropracter, but admit that some people have had a lucky experience with some of them. I really wish chiropracters would just disappear. We have to many people coming into the hospital due to injuries from chiropracters.

Yet another esteemed ATOTer who missed my point: Network is not like regular chiropratic. I'm emphasizing this so everyone with their horror stories about ordinary chiros will think a little before chiming in.

I'm sorry. I forgot that I lump all chiroquacks together, regardless of the type they practice. I went to Maurice Consiglio (One of your Network Chiroquacks) in Lebanon, TN, he was the one that gave me my wonderful left arm paralysis. Next time I'll make sure to specify what type of quack I'm referring too.

"We all know there are good MDs and Bad MDs, just as there are good and bad practitioners in every field, chiropractors included. "

As I conceded above, you will come across bad practitioners in every field. You are someone who works with MDs; haven't you heard and read and seen all the horror stories about bad MDs? I don't want this to degenerate into a MD vs. chiropractor argument. Dismissing all chiropractors as quacks may not be very well-reasoned.

Relax. Don't aggrevate it any more. And get plenty of sleep laying flat on your back. I've had back pain in recent years and that will always help things, as well as a good massage.

It's probably just as important to find out why you hurt your back. Could be sitting in your car wrong or something like that. Avoid doing it again and save yourself the pain.

Take some motrin ect ect, if your seat at your computer isnt all that great for support or even if it is, get a towel and fold it up , don't roll it up and put that behind you for support that should help some what to alleviate some of the pain.

Try laying down either on your back or stomach, if on your back get a couple of pillows and put them under your knees to elevate your legs or lay on your stomach and get a couple of pillows under your top half and lay there for a minute then take one out and lay there for another mi ute, alternate this for about 5 to 8 minutes ( elevating up and down )or just lay the pillows out ( one under your stomach and one under your upper torso and use heat and ice ).

Another thing you could do if you can get your hands on one is a Electroceutical medical device, they work wonders but they can be very $$$.

This is all I know about helping with back problems ( ruptured a disk myself ) of course it all depends on what you did to cause it in the first place.

One last thing if this is from a bending injury last thing you want to do is
bend forward, you want to give your rest not agrivate the injury any more, so dont bend forward.

Last but not least, my brain has shut off and my spelling is horrible ;)
