Hurt knee, now I can't run. What can I do so I can eat normally?

What kind of exercise can I do now that I can't run so I won't be afraid to eat food and get fat during the day?

Ride a bike - low resistance and high RPM is great exercise and does not stress your knee if your seat is adjusted to the proper height. It also strengthens the muscles that support your knee - good rehab.

no, you will be going much faster with less effort. Focus on time until you get a feel for the distances that YOU go at the gearing you ride in on the terrain you ride on...

I hurt my knee six months ago pretty badly and have been in physical therapy since. My docs have advised me to switch from the running I used to do to biking which has worked out pretty well. I also swim a lot.

What a stud!

Heck yeah.

25 mins on treadmill > 0 mins on treadmill.

Lost almost 15 pounds so far and get to go an extra notch on the belt!
True. Any exercise is better than none. Join a Gym that has a Swimming Pool!

I miss my swimming days.. 60- 80 laps 3 times a week all during college.

Never lost a single pound doing it though. Got a bit frusturated towards the end due to that.

How far on bike = same as 1.5 miles on treadmill going at a steady 4.2mph?
15 minutes on a treadmill isn't exercise, it's warming up!

I'm on treadmill for 25 mins a day.

25 minutes for 1.5 miles, so you are walking then?

Heh, good point. That is about walking speed. I used to run 3 miles in under 25 mins when I ran cross country in HS.
