for what it's worth, Consumer reports rated this model 2nd to last (out of about 30). All of the Sharps got low ratings from them (behind Sony, Panasonic, Canon, JVC..) They got knocked for Picture quality and Image stabilization although if the price is right it still may not be a bad buy.

Yep, I second that davisdog. I remember when a similar deal hit Amazon, it looked like a great deal but too bad the product was flaky. Not worth the effort.
