Someone on Reddit is transcribing police scanner incidents.

Looks like the vultures are out now, looting high value targets like cell phone stores and whatnot.

Scum. People are so fucked up. Stay safe everyone. Even in indiana it is windy as hell.

From CNN:
At least 5.3 million people are without electricity across 10 states and the District of Columbia affected by Sandy.

NYC's 911 system typically receives 1000 calls a day. Earlier this evening, they were receiving 10,000 every 30 minutes.

Likely because people are f**king idiots, reporting non-emergencies like downed power lines, felled trees and flooding.

If your life is in immediate danger, call 911. Otherwise ride it out.

Absolutely correct. Reports indicated a lot of those calls were NOT emergencies.

Some pretty crazy pics. I live in Centreville, VA and it was a complete snooze-fest. Like an endless medium drizzle w/ mild winds. boooooooorrrrrrrinnnnnnnnngggggggg 😀

Consider yourself very lucky. Others aren't going to be so fortunate. And reports currently include 13 fatalities. Morning light is going to uncover incredible images, I expect.

Oh yeah absolutely. I would be piss-drunk sitting in the dark grumbling because I no internets right now. Instead I am piss-drunk complaining on the internet how the storm was so weak! 😎

Lost power at about 8 pm. I've been drinking and reading by the light of my led lamp, that I built earlier, since then.

And that's just the accounts, some of those are apts, dorms, condos, when you estimate the total PEOPLE without power you probably closer to 20 million..
