Pic of 2nd levee break I believe that's in eastern Orleans parish.
CNN reporting a man jumped to his death inside the Superdome. There have been 2 deaths total reported IN the Superdome. No word on the 2nd. Toilets are backing up, still no a/c, people are "miserable".

They're going to be without food, water, supplies for a very long time. I'd have been looting, too.
Yeah, it's not like they're carrying out plasma TVs or anything. They're getting necessities. What are they supposed to do? Sit around and wait for the cashier?
Around the corner on Canal Street, the main thoroughfare in the central business district, people sloshed headlong through hip-deep water as looters ripped open the steel gates on the front of several clothing and jewelry stores.
One man, who had about 10 pairs of jeans draped over his left arm, was asked if he was salvaging things from his store.
No," the man shouted, "that's EVERYBODY'S store."
Looters filled industrial-sized garbage cans with clothing and jewelry and floated them down the street on bits of plywood and insulation as National Guard lumbered by.
Mike Franklin stood on the trolley tracks and watched the spectacle unfold.
"To be honest with you, people who are oppressed all their lives, man, it's an opportunity to get back at society," he said.

Sad seeing that mentality but the depth of poverty in parts of New Orleans rivals third-world status.Originally posted by: iamwiz82

Do they really think they can sandbag the break, or is this a "last resort" measure?:Q

Maybe this doesn't apply to New Orleans because they don't get hit this bad that often, but I'm really sick of paying for those damn Floridians who are too stupid to realize that big storms come in a few times a year and wipe everything out. If they think its that important to live down there then they should start rebuilding themselves.

Whoa...what was that? That anchor's sister showed up at the studio or was on the phone and the anchor is leaving the desk. Odd.

im also remembering the old xfiles movie where they said FEMA is the government within and will take over the country during an alien invasion. now its governors asking FEMA for help and FEMA is dispatching the army to go to the affected areas. so are they really the government inside our government? should we be afraid of FEMA?
