If 80% of the city is underwater, that's just about all of the city that's below sea level, so it would seem that the entire bowl did indeed flood to some level.

Where are you getting these sources? The news stations are sucking right now and I didn't realize the flooding was that bad.

Twinspan out.
Large ships beached.
Oil tanker beached and leaking oil.
Gas lines ruptured and burning, EVEN FROM UNDER FLOODED AREAS.
Homes lifed off foundations and moved.
BODIES FLOATING IN THE STREETS, reported from many areas.
Cops and firefighters were diving in the water to rescue people before boats were even available.

:Q🙁 Just watched that mayor video. The devastation is just unimaginable.

I was watching the cable news this evening and had no idea how destructive this was.

If anyone in FL has a spare like, 40 GB HD, they should totally toss it into the wind and see if it destroys it.

😱

he said mb which would be millibits.

For anyone curious about Aaron, I've managed to track down where he was. Hopefully it will help us find him in time. He was riding out the storm at a moving/locksmith shop called:

Airline Rolland for Keys
1926 Airline Drive
Metairie, LA 70001
Tel: (504) 835-7233

Google Maps says he's South of I10(which is good).

:Q

Anyone watching Fox news? They just had this guy on from MS who was talking about the flood waters and stuff. He said he was there with his wife and she got swept away. He seemed really rattled/distressed and with good reason 🙁 :brokenheart:

Thats so awful to even imagine that happening.

The problem is he is 2.6 miles from Ochsner Hospital.

According to this map the lower level of the hospital flooded.

Edit: Also, has anyone heard from Chaotic42? Doesn't he live in NO?

And that Hospital is even 5 meters above mean sea level, if I guessed the "MSL" correctly!

This damage is unbelievable. My parents' house and my grandmother's house are surely underwater. My family history is as good as gone. 🙁

Damn, sorry to hear that 🙁

Hope any ATOT'ers in the area and their families are safe.

My power is out now at my home and power out where I was staying. I'm at a hotel in downtown Bham, and the power is out in a good many portions of downtown right now. There is a freakin' tree right in front of the hotel DOWNTOWN, and many more blocking streets.

This was hundreds of miles inland, folks, so I can only feel sick about the damage to MS and LA.
