Shot of Downtown N.O.

Anything from the North Shore? My house WAS in Mandeville.
Haven't seen anything yet. Considering you get water up to your porch in, what, 2-3" of rain? I'd expect you have a water bed right now. 🙁

Nocturnal, gas went up here by only $0.02 but I read elsewhere Tulsa is expecting a $0.30 jump. Oil settled down after the initial spikes so we'll see how the markets close today

Hey guys, how are the gas prices this morning? Any noticeable increase?

thx for reminding me, i was suppposed to post that earlier

2.45/gal yesterday, up to 2.65 today...and probably not even close to how high it's gonna go in the coming days 🙁

Yeah, my cell phone's been pretty spotty since yesterday morning. I'd imagine it's much, much worse if you're in NO.

Anyone see that guy on Fox fall on his ass?

LOL, nope, but I wish I had!

I became so disgusted with the false reports on Fox, CNN, TWC, that I turned the television off. The only thing that made Fox worth watching was that idiot... he's either really stupid, or a comic genius -- in the face of devastation, he had me lmao. "whooa whoooa whoooooooaaaaa!" as the wind slid him on his feet, then "ooooooooh" as he got smacked in the head with something small.

Just thinking about the path of the storm...if it goes up the Mississippi or Ohio, all the water dumped into it will just flow back to NO. Unless I'm wrong.

Look at the path

It's going to be a weak TS, strong TD when it hits up here. There will be some flash flooding all over the Tennessee and Ohio Valleys.

That's a relief for me, looks like Memphis may not get anything worse than some strong thunderstorms and some wind.

watch for tornadoes, though

Yeah, that's probably going to be more of a threat east of here, out torwards east Memphis, Germantown, Collierville, Lakeland areas. I'm downtown by the river, a couple miles north of Beale Street, actually just north of the Pyramid.

I'm waiting til they wheel out WOPR.

And like I said before, wtf is up with the "Live Pinpoint 16 Doppler Radar" thing... Would it kill them to say "radar"?

You must be in Harbor Town.

It's the news station equivalent of penis waving. Not everyone has their own doppler radar, so they like to show it off.

Yah, I walked into work and it was the same thing. No one here knew what I was talking about and my friends when I called them on the phone around here didn't know a damn thing either. Bleh.
