Good luck to OBX, looks like they're going to take it hard. Hopefully it isn't too bad...seems like part of the area had just finished recovering from the last big one four or five years ago.

edit: Was it Isabel, 7 years ago? Time flies. Seems like just yesterday that I was vacationing in OBX and had to evacuate for Bertha...in '96.

Yeah Isabel hit Hatteras hard in 03. Formed a new inlet. o_O

Have any links to the maps for the warm front moving through? Forecasters said there was a chance of that...

The front is over the great lakes and moving slowly, Earl is charging north quickly. They'll probably arrive over New England at the same time, that's going to be too late to spare North Carolina and what looks to be eastern Long Island and Cape Cod. If the front was a couple of hours ahead or Earl a couple behind it would be looking good, but that's not too likely now. I think that's why the projected tracks keep moving west, they were all based on that front getting here sooner.
