The specs that resellers put out for Hyper-X don't seem to be very consistent. Kingston's own specs for the KHX3000/512 is 2-2-2-6-1, but with resellers I've seen 2-3-3 and others for the same module. Both excaliberpc and googlegear list it as 2-3-3-1T.

I like my 512mb Corsair pc3000 I bought back 6-8months ago when ram hit the floor...It does 450ddr (memtested)...It boots as high as 460ddr w/ 2.8v....For the higher price of this chip the headroom was large. Many have had hard time getting the corsair pc3200 stuff and pc3500 stuff to do this...

I can atest to the Mushkin quality. I've got 2 512MB 2100 (Basic/green)sticks in a Gigabyte board that have been running at 319Mhz for almost a year. Not one issue.

Actually, you could run PC3200 at anywhere from DDR333 (PC2700) to DDR400(PC3200) synchronously w/out "Overclocking" with that board. Simply divide 1.83GHz by a multiplier lower than the stock 11 multiplier and set your new FSB speed. For instance, you could run 183MHz x 10 multi and you'd have a faster system. Or you could run 193MHz x 9.5 etc. etc. You won't be overclocking your CPU, but you would be taking full advantage of faster RAM, thereby speeding up your system w/out the pointlessness of actually overclocking.

I like Mushkin a lot (that's what I have in my box currently) and they're top quality, but there's no way I'd buy from them right now. Definitely overpriced compared to others...


Any good PC3200 with 5ns chips will easily do PC2700 @ 2-2-2-5, while costing less. And at least you can run it at PC3200 in the future, I doubt Mushkin's PC2700 will do PC3200.

well for starters, i think that mushkin is faster, fromt the benchmarks ive seen, mushkin low lat is better than corsair low lat.

also, i only buy my computer parts from newegg, thats just how i do it, i love that company.

You'll pay more and not buy direct? Mushkin has better service than newegg...
