hunting cool puzzles

my daughter's boyfriend's parents are both math professors and his dad loves puzzles.. 3 dimensional things you have to put together correctly or get apart.. things you have to figure out.

because he loves them, he has many of them but it's the best (affordable) gift to give him if you can find a new good one. 🙂

if you have a favorite or know of a good.. something.. toy/puzzle/gizmo that sounds like what I'm talking about, could you link me to it (anywhere), for consideration?
