Hunter Thompson a giant? Hmmm, maybe a 20 second story on the nightly news. He's a footnote at best.

Was he smart? Yep... and SO WHAT? Did he have style? Yep... if you like sort of thing. He stood for everything I'm against. He viewed man as a depraved, stupid, ugly creature and viewed the universe as malevolent, unknowable, and doomed. He was the epitome of the self-hating egomaniac, and I'd wager that had something to do with his death. I'm just surprised his motley collage of cynicism, pessimism, and negativism didn't cause him to off himself sooner. I will not mourn.
