I searched, so hopefully this isn't a repost. At any rate this is new to me...

Pics

I'm always up for a good adventure, but probably not this one. Unless at the end you get not just dinner, but group sex with three world-class supermodels of your choice...

This doesnt make sense. Where do they get their food from? How do they maintain?

I have to question the captions on the pics... I wonder if this isn't actually a monastery.

Most likely a monastery. Unless they hunt their own game and serve that for wary travellers ( ) so technically not a restaurant, heh.

Thats not a restaurant. Its Xian (Mt.Huashan).

Click

I wanted to go this year, but unfortuately airfare killed that idea. :(

Another one I would like to see is the Guoliang Tunnel Road in China

You can get some info about both here. You need to click next page for the Tunnel Road. Not the best link but it works for a bit of info on both.

That would suck to have a 50lb sack of rice or cold food that has to make it that distance in the summer.

Pretty sure that guy puffff was there a while back and took pictures. I can't remember the address of his journal, but it shouldn't be too hard to find.

How do you know they don't have a lift that goes straight up from the bottom in the back of the "restaurant"? This is like an FPS game where you go through a maze-like structure for 30 minutes then open one door and suddenly you're back at the start.

I'm sure I'd die. I'd spend hours getting there just to find they don't have vegetarian. :D

I searched before posting this reply, but I don't think that's a restaurant.

It's a gazebo at the top of the mountain. There are, however, restaurants in similarly situated areas in Huangshan. There are stairs from the city at the bottom all the way to the top. Takes about 3 hours to walk up it. That one particular picture is of one of the harder to climb mountains of the group. It's being remodeled so that the walkways will have handle bars on the side so that falling is less likely. There are a couple of hotels on the top of those mountains too that are actually quite nice.

lol. sure would build up your appetite.

On the trek back you'd just get hungry again and turn around and head back to the restaurant

It's not a restaurant. I'm not sure why the album owner felt any need to make that place more interesting than it is :)

To all the ones above who asked, "How would they get food there?"

Answer for the over imaginative: "Ancient Chinese dragons carry it up on their backs."
Answer for the practical: "A friggen helicopter? Duh?"
Answer for the practical and economical minded: "It's obviously not an eating establisment."
Answer for the bitter folk: "Screw you 'theplaidfad', your post sucks!"
Seriously people... lets use some brain cells?
