I've only had one job that required that I carry a passcard. This was in the early 90's and technology was a bit...bulky. The card was hard plastic and about 1/4" thick. Definitely not comfortable in a wallet...but we were required to carry them.

Nowadays, they have much more "modern technology" in place and the passcards aren't nearly as bulky.

we have rfid badge w/ photo to get in. we handle radioactive sources and explosives so the NRC/ATF are pretty particular about our security measures. you have to have another separate badge to get into the storage areas, only a few people at the camp have them.

I have to badge through 5 different doors to get to my workplace.

Every once in a while someone manages to social engineer their way back to near where I work, they're usually a little freaked out by the time staff rescues them

A badge for the outside doors. Now that there are no servers onsite, the badge lets me into everywhere (since Test forgot to revoke my access to their lab when I left the group), It on the other hand revoked access to the server room immediately when I moved to engineering .

My HID card isn't labeled... how do you know what version it is?

"Sometimes." It's unlocked from 7AM-5PM but otherwise there's a card and a key code.

Currrently - no. I work from home. Suckas.

Last job - yes. It wasn't an ID badge, just a generic RFID card. I kept it in my wallet and just held my wallet up to the scanner.

i dont have any kind of key card for my office, but most installations i work at out in the real world im usually either escorted in or given a pass card to enter. some cities have actually given me keys to their buildings/ sites so i can let myself in, pretty cool.

The outside door is just buttons. The interior doors have prox cards but almost everyone uses the number pad on the sensor. I think we made it about two weeks with only sensors before management realized people needed a backup way through doors because they would leave their prox card at their desk.
