Apparently Hummer thinks so...but I mean, what do they know, you're an almighty ATOTer.

Strange enough, that looks to be the best looking GM interior I've seen yet (save for the XLR and STS):Q

If it's a real hummer you want a manual. Since real Hummers are offroad beasts and manual transmissions are superior when negotiating rough terrain.

Really? I'm big into manuals, and unfarmiliar with offroading, but it seems to me that if you're doing any rockcrawling it would be useful to be able to inch along slowly without worrying about burning out a clutch.

You know that all "real" hummers have 3-speed auto transmission, right? Since the Pentagon brass didn't think too many young Americans could drive a manual.

You are wrong, the only benefits a manual transmission has is a (typically) higher first gear ratio, meaning a higher crawl ratio, but most competition rigs have automatics.

EDIT: A few H3s have been driving around my work lately. American Axleis down the street and is supplying the... well... axles and they have been doing a lot of testing.

I thought they had the 4L80e. Given thier use, an automatic is less likely to kill the engine when operated in a hurry. And getting shot at makes you need to operate it in a hurry.

Edit:

Yup, 4L80e.

The H3 is 16.9 inches shorter in length than the H2, 6 inches shorter in height and 6.5 inches narrower.

Hummers are slowly evolving into a regular SUV.

They are moving away from everything that made them great.
