i really hate that designer POSI don't really care as long as you don't confuse Hummers or Humvees with that STUPID H2 POS.

On top of all that, the civilian "Hummer" is not even close to the military Humvee. I've driven and ridden many thousands of miles in an Army Humvee, and they are horrible on the road and very loud. Don't get me wrong, they are better than the jeeps we had in the 80's, but they are strictly utilitarian vehicles. Those sonofabitches are so freaking uncomfortable! Except the ambulance versions, they have A/C in the back and you can lay down in the back, but they're still loud.
I can honestly say I don't think I'd keep a civilian Hummer if it was given to me, I hate those things.

I don't think you'll be able to do that. When the Army phased out the jeeps, we had to cut them in half with torch and ship them on palletts back to the depot. They wanted to make sure they couldn't be sold or anything.
But you're right, there's nothing on the market that can outpull one of those things. The Army keeps vehicles forever. We had a deuce and a half wrecker in my unit that was made in the 50's. It had been updated over the years and you couldn't tell the difference between it and a new one.

Trust me when I tell you that all those are piles of sh!t. I've been to many DX (deactivated surplus) sales on Army posts, and the stuff is really, really cheap, but it's worn out. I used to go to buy the nomex pilot jumpsuits, they are great winter clothes, but the collars and sleeves are worn out and they have big oil stains on them. But for something like 2 or 3 $ apiece, it was good to have to put on to crawl under the car to work on it.

For $2 around Kadena AFB. Of course that was 20+ years ago. I'm sure inflation has kicked in.
