As much as I want to point and laugh, it wouldn't surprise me if the true cause were actually big ass aftermarket chrome wheels. 4 complaints isn't that much.

I guess they don't want another Firestone.

All four consumers said the H2 was not driven off-road or under any abusive conditions.

I'll try to contain my surprise.

Guess that tax writeoff is going to the mechanic after all...

I'm sure they have enough sense to notice if those 4 people had aftermarket chrom wheels. Wouldn't you?

Edit: And I hate to be the conspiracy theorist but it really does make me think how it is only after 4 complaints. The only way that makes sense in my eyes is that this is something that they have known about for some amount of time. Almost as if they expected it.

I don't believe the NHTSA does primary on site work for these incidents, so they don't know right away.

So much for the "Go Anywhere" moniker.

Seriously, though, I always thought it was odd that the H2 commercials always showed the vehicles travelling on flat terrain. Maybe this is why.

I bet they had spinners on them.
Though the one that went into on comming traffic, I'm glad it didn't hit anyone head-on. That would be a nasty wreck.

What does them being chrome plated have to do with anything?

Edit-It's a big GM hunk of crap. I'd expect nothing less than wheels falling off.

I still cannot figure out why GM screwed up the hummer design, the only folks I see driving those are soccer moms!

It's simple, they put it on an existing GM platform, the Tahoe. That's why they screwed it up.

No one here finds it disturbing that you would wish harm on people simply because you do not agree with their choice of transportation?

Why are so many so wrapped up in what other people do? Are your lives that boring?

Honestly, you sound like the automotive version of the Religious Right.

Yeah, no other car manufacturers ever have such problems.

I mean, look at Honda and Toyota for example.
Look at how they..never....have.......to..........recall..........ooops!

Never mind, I guess those Honda & Toyota buyers deserve it too.

My dad took a 3 hour trip north (to central FL) for business and his partner drives a hummer h2. My dad now officially hates the car. It gets ~10MPG (300 mile trip, 30 gal tank, they filled up before they left and the meter was on E when they got there) and he said my Altima is more comfortable (and it can make that trip in < 1/2 a tank).
