It was a GM test w/ engineers and all. There was a total of 5 of them. I don't think they will test at the Rubicon anymore. Besides not climbing worth a d***, they boiled over with the non pressurized cooling systems. It was funny as the lead managers tried to block my video camera.
There were four H2s and one old one. We talked with one of the guys who said they were out there doing "development". He said Eaton was working on electronic lockers and then said "we" should be releasing them for the dana axles pretty soon.
Here is Chris' Jeepster winching up the Hummer H2. The GM boyz were product testing....failed:

That's funny, because this article makes it sound like it's the second coming for offroaders.
That's sad.GM expects to sell 25,000 to 30,000 H2s in the first year, adding that only 10 percent to 15 percent of them will ever go off-road.

Just because someone got stuck with their H2 it doesn't mean that it's not a good offroad car. Plenty of other articles praise it for its offroading abilities. I've driven two H2s on the AM General/GM offroad track that they use to let reporters and such drive the vehicles on. I can say that the H2 faired extremely well, but as expected an H1 will trounce one when the going gets really tough. If you drive the H2 like its an H1 you can get stuck more easily than you'd think. It's sad that so many aren't going to offroad them. Offroading with Hummers is pretty big around here. In fact, my body repair man a couple blocks from my house gets more than half of his business from fixing panels on Hummers.
