Thanks for the heads up. Ironically Burnout Paradise is the game I've been waffling on buying for a long time and convinced me to get the pack even though I own most of it.

I bought this on Steam a while back and never got it to boot. Crashed to desktop every single time. Hopefully it goes better for you.

Worked fine for me, even multi-monitor didn't need any tweaking.

The videos are stretched and partially unreadable, but the game plays fine (I played about 15 minutes and it never so much as stuttered). Too bad about the lack of an in-car view, though.

I don't like driving games much, but really enjoyed Burnout Paradies, albeit on the PS3. I didn't like the 'stunt' stuff but just didn't play that.

It's probably worth noting that the PC version of Dead Space has some crippling technical problems. If you turn Vsync on, it introduces an incredible amount of input lag - more than it usually does in other games I mean - and the game becomes unplayable. We're talking like nearly a second delay.

However, if you turn Vsync off, the screen tearing is absolutely horrendous (As in, you didn't know it was possible for your screen to tear that bad); and on top of that, it actually breaks the game in such a way that makes it impossible for you to progress. In the beginning of the game, there's a doorway you have to walk through. Leaving Vsync turned off disallows you from actually entering the doorway. You'll just end up hitting an invisible barrier. It's incredibly bizarre.

The only way to get Dead Space to run in a desirable manner is to have Vsync turned off, and use a framerate limiter to limit the game to your monitor's refresh rate. The lower the framerate, the less glitchy the game is (sounds silly, I know). I recommend using D3DOverrider to force triple buffering. Works like a charm.

Never had those issues, and many others never did either. It was supposedly common, but was fixable.

What other solutions are there, besides using a 3rd party framerate limiter/triple-bufferer? I've ran Dead Space 1 on multiple different PCs over the course of a few years, and it's had issues every single time.

How about if you disable in-game Vsync and use Dynamic V-Sync via RadeonPro? Then can you have vsync without input lag?

I read that (on Nvidia) you disable Vsync in game, but enable it in the control panel which puts it at 60fps in stead of 30. Not sure about ATI, I had a 4870 when I played it and changed nothing except maybe turning the mouse sensitivity way up. You can also turn that up higher than in the game from the .ini file.

I was all set to donate like a buck then I saw that top contributors were donating like $1300 and I felt like scum for wanting to spend so little for charity.

Ahh now I see the icons, the origin games have a little hurricane under them. Ugh... DS3 and Sims3 are origin only... well this deal is blah then :-(

It isn't that big of a pain to install Origin too.

Believe me I'd rather not, but at some point I had to cave on it (for some particular game) and it isn't that big of a deal... it's worth it (once their servers are working again) in order to get some of these games for that cheap.

I've boycotted EA for a long time, almost bought a game from them by accident before I saw it was EA. I guess if the money isn't going to them I may buy this, I'll consider it later.

A good deal no doubt, the few games I might want I already have or aren't available on steam, so origin only tactic has lost them a sale here.

I can't help but feel that this is really just to try and gain favour with gamers, someone in the PR department has said "I know how we avoid worst company in the world 3 years in a row, lets give gamers loads of cheap games and give the profits to charity!"

Bought primarily for the Steam games. Not installing Origin at least for the time being. If even handing out free games doesn't push numbers up at their service, maybe EA will eventually take a hint.

not to mention get a bunch of people to download Origin and then the camel's nose is under the tent.

Speaking of which, I have been unable to fully install Origin since yesterday - it kind of installs but it can't open because it can't update. This all seems tied to their servers being pounded, but I'm curious... has anyone here successfully installed Origin since yesterday?

Took the time to install Medal of Honour multiplayer on Steam and had the same issue mentioned in the thread. No MP key that was valid and had to use the Origin key.

Looks like the for the games where you get a key for both Origin and Steam, Medal of Honor is the only one where you'll need both keys. The rest can be passed along/sold/given away/whatever.

I was able to play Medal of Honor multiplayer on steam without ever using the Origin key.

I don't think I'll be going back to it, though... I kept getting kicked from servers and unless it was the servers being funky, I think people were simply kicking me for being new to the game.

FPS player since Wolfenstein 3D in 1992... and kicked out of games for being "new" ha :)

I was doing alright, getting kills... but I was obviously also still learning the game a bit, fine-tuning my key config, etc.

To be fair, nobody has ever done Humble Bundle "out of the goodness of their heart". It's a mutually beneficial relationship however; devs/games get good press/exposure/players and charities and HB get money.

I recognize that, however the value of the bundle here is so high that it exceeds anything else done before. The only other time we've seen this sheer number of AAA games being sold was when THQ was going bankrupt and had a mega going-bust-sale.

Actually I think there's one other high profile sale like this, i can't remember the specifics of at the moment.

But it's suspect, I get that a few indy games with little or no exposure might be willing to sell for fairly cheap prices because it's actually a good business model for them, but when EA do it with IP that costs millions to make, and then donate everything to charity...it's a PR move, pure and simple.

The sad thing is that EA havn't addressed the issues that cause them negative press in the PC space, they've been told over and over again why gamers hate them, and they never change, they think they can simply undo that with some charity work.

It's like a bully repeatedly punching you in the face and saying, "Hey it's OK buddy, I'll be nice, and by nice I mean I'll keep punching you anyway, only now I'll give you some bandages afterwards".

My message to EA is that my respect isn't for sale. I think other PC gamers would do well to make the same point.

Damned if they do, damned if they don't, lol.

I get it, you don't like that there's a business undertone(though god forbid anyone ever get anything more than 'personal satisfaction' out of charity work, but that's another thread in another forum lol). But the fact of the matter is they can either do something that's 'good' or not do it at all; and how do you do a 'gooder' bundle than this? Would it really be morally superior if they accepted some share of the revenue and provided older games?
