..it's all eco-KOOK agenda driven BS.

sometimes I'm not sure which side is kookiest. Those iwth poorly-considered sustainability policies, or those who always see "conspiracy!" or "agenda!" behind those who try to educate them on reality.

Back when exactly?

yeah, wtf. It has *always* been the human agenda to want more. I'l like to know when exactly it wasn't that way because I don't see it.

Examples:

Bible story: garden of eden, Adam & Eve, forbidden fruit.
Ancient Egypt, do you think we wold find things like King Tut's tomb if it weren't for the drive for more?
Gengis Kahn's asian empire. It was not the doing of just one man, but a great many driven people.
The discovery of America was a result of trying to establish a trade route with Asia. You think that was really about trying new things? Yeah, the Spaniards were really craving some curry chicken and sushi.
Then we have the American gold rush...

That is the problem. With your "all or nothing" deal, we're going to extremes. Why can't we enjoy our Playstations but also be aware that we should try to limit our excessiveness(sp)? I love my fast food, car, electricity and all the rest. I don't see electricity as a problem but I see our cultures across the world are being trained to constantly want more material goods.

We as a whole are not satisfied with our 4 door sedans. Instead, we have an urge to constantly upgrade. Like others have said here, maybe that is the human way from the start ... to constantly upgrade.

We are spoiled brats that's really what we are. We use the car to go everywhere since using a bike or walking requires work, and no way in hell do we want to walk 10 miles when it's 30 below.
"Back then" people rode horses to get places if they had them.

The same old argument is getting ridiculous. People will always do what is most convenient for them.

WHAT ABOUT BEFORE HORSES WERE INVENTED WHAT THEN

If we did't buy unnecessary goods and services then unemployment would be around 50%

Would you even be comfortable reverting back to a NES? Or an Atari 2600?

The original TIE Fighter wouldn't be that bad...

Global Warming doesn't exist.
Sure it does. That part isn't up for debate.

Question is: Are humans playing a factor in it? That is the part which is still being debated.

Nope, no global warming, sorry.

Oh, and at the rate we are going, there will come a time in the not so far off future where we will be out of the the basic metals and organics that we need to build all of our fancy toys...

unless we start recycling more and/or go to the moon etc.

We do live beyond our means and in excess. Not an easy thing to change though, scaling back on our Consumer Economy is a good start.

Nah, we just need to dig deeper and in more places. 😛

This is OT damn it!

Do pies contribute more to global warming than waffles?

Would a zombie infection slow down global warming by limiting how much co2 is put into the atmosphere?

Does Megan Fox contribute to global warming with her hotness?

Discuss.
