10 million bytes a second is 10mbit. I think the good doctors need to pick up a newer copy of whatever textbook they got THAT tidbit out of.

Big B = bytes. Little b = bits.

Ethernet is 10/100/1000/10,000 megabits/sec. Not bytes.

10 gig has been around for quite a while now and stardardized for a couple years. And it normally uses single mode, not multimode due to serious distance restrictions/modal bandwidth on multi-mode. Not trying to correct, just to let you know.

Gah, I know all that. Had a brain fart and typed bits as bytes. But they still need to go pick up a new textbook if they think 10mbit is anywhere near normal.

Before making your petty observation, did you take into consideration that standing next to Peter Sterling you would be the equivalent of a fresh sticky piece of dog excretion?

Funny, I was just reading about how each neuron in the brain runs at 100Hz (it's from a book on genetic algorithems and ANNs so don't hold me to it). Brains looking mighty unimpressive all of a sudden; I need to talk to intel about making me a new one, and maybe get nvidia to get me some new eyes on a PCI-E bus(I kid).

You seem to be unaware how many neurons there are and how much more efficient their operations are compared to what you'd expect using your PC.
