and besides...my GF has stated that if I was "uncut" she wouldn't go near my d!ck...in her words "Uncircumcised men are gross"

I compared to girl circumcision exactly because I anticipated what you would say next. And imo male and female circumcision have similiarities.
 
I'm regretting the day I'm going to have to decide if my kid's going to be cut.
Although, I am....and i couldn't care less. I have other things to worry about.

Exactly,But then I'm sure european girls would be weirded out by cut ppl as well.. (or most of the world excluding U.S/muslim countries)

I'm not circumsized, and I think it's kind of silly to get your baby circumsized unless you're Jewish, but hardly cruel.

Circumcision is the only procedure done on infants without a specific pathology/illness. For example, would a doctor give ear tubes to a baby without ear problems?
 
Man circumcision is really messed up. In eastern europe at least, we don't do it. I'm glad. If you were made to have skin, then it serves a purpose.

Actually, here's a short list of countries who circ baby boys:

Iraq
Iran
Syria
Egypt
Turkey
Saudi Arabia
Pakistan
Afghanistan
Indonesia
Israel
United States

Notice the absence of such countries as Canada, the UK, Germany, Japan, India, Sweden, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil ...

and the sad thing is, I'm Polish...and my folks had no problem with the baby cutting.
 
The US began doing it for valid reasons: soldiers in the jungle tended to get 'infected' -- and got so much less often when circumsized. It's probably saved enough lives to justify itself by this point. At least, that's the story I heard. 'course, it doesn't say much positive about the warlike nature of our culture. <shrug>
 
How about this: if the parents have no preference, randomize it! Variety is the spice of life. Or something like that.

I'll agree that it's an unnecessary procedure to net the doctor $40 more, but I'm going to have to draw the line at where you say that the practice is barbaric or cruel or inhumane or other such descriptions; it's not, because you are a barely conscious lump of flesh when it is done to you. And if one has the procedure done as a child or adult, one is anesthetized. Stop being so goddamn melodramatic. :|

I agree it's an unnecessary procedure, but it's not "cruel'. Do you believe that those countries where baby's ears get pierced for earrings are "cruel"
