The fossa on the lateral surface of the scapula is:

a. Supraspinous
b. Infraspinous
c. Subscapular
d. Glenoid
e. A and b

Our books isn't clear as to which one it is... does anyone know?

edit: (added question)
The lateral and medial menisci are located in which joint?

a. Humerus and scapula
b. Humerus and ulna
c. Carpals and metacarpals
d. Femur and tibia
e. Os coxae and femur

D
That is where your arm is attached.
What other fossa could possibly be lateral, or towards the outside?

Yup... but the confusing point of it was that it's listed as a "cavity" rather than a "fossa".

Thanks Glen!

Probably the glenoid cavity, d.

There is no such thing as "subscapular", maybe you are talking about the muscle called subscapularis?

Also, it may not be the glenoid b/c it's a "cavity", and NOT a fossa. Which in that case the correct answer would be b.Infraspinous fossa.

The glenoid cavity is made of the glenoid fossa and the glenoid rim.

🙁

With that title, this thread had limitless possibilities. The lateral surface of a scapula is a bit disappointing.

I can see Bleeb, 10 years from now on a wireless PDA from the operating room...
