PlayOn is now $39.99 a year for the first year and $19.99 a year for following years. Granted that is cheaper than $9.99 a month but Hulu is also going to start restricting their catalog for free viewers (ie you won't be able to see all episodes for every season).

If this is true, I predict that Hulu is going to go under in the near future. The people that watch Hulu watch it because they don't want to pay for television. If they wanted to pay for TV, they'd have a nice DVR to record the shows for them, or they'd already have a Netflix subscription. If they make it so that you can't watch new episodes or something similar without being a subscriber, people will move on to the next free service that pops up.

So let's see... I have to pay for Hulu, XBL Gold, AND my internet connection and still get ads? I fail to see the point.

Ugh... it would almost be worth it if you didn't need the premium console memberships too. $10/mo to stream on 360, PS3, or my iphone would have been pretty sweet. But now that it's $10 plus 360 gold (which I already had) plus PSN plus (which I'll never need) is shitty.

Well, basically they do that already. For a lot of the current network shows they only keep the most six recent episodes or so.

The Hulu Plus subscription gives you access to all episodes.
