Yea, once everyone gets Froyo and Adobe's mythical hardware-accelerated flash.
And that is only if Hulu unblocks mobile devices....You can't watch Hulu on a Froyo device right now, and it is hard to see Hulu just lifting that block.

$10 for ad-supported, full season catalogs is a good deal. Cable costs a lot more, and these are many of the popular shows. Cable still shows ads even though you pay for it, too.

Yea, if Hulu gets a decent amount of paying users, I am sure Viacom will change its tune and put the Daily Show back up.
I mean it is not like they can really be monetizing their Daily Show streams more than a $10 Hulu plan would be able to do.

They got ads in their Flash videos on their website. They get to keep 100% of that ad revenue instead of giving a chunk to Hulu.

No way that price is going to stick. 1,700+ one-star reviews at the app store. I think they are experimenting with prices, but $10/month does not make sense unless you're canceling cable and with no live sports, CBS, Viacom, etc, it's not worth it.

Those people need to roll up their jump to conclusion mats. It is a little premature to write the price off until we know what the catalog is going to look like.
Well, the catalog is pretty much there to browse from the app. Maybe they will add more but nonetheless it's a shitton of content as it is.
True, but I am thinking (maybe hoping lol) that the Hulu folks realize that simply charging $10 for what they currently offer on the site for free isn't going to cut it and they will therefore come up with some other reasons to get people to fork over the $10.

Eyeballs are on Daily Show/Colbert report, Hulu is just a middleman. Their viewers are tech savvy young people who can find the comedy central website.

I'll pass. Their business model doesn't make much sense considering most of their customers were computer savvy in the first place. Charging for it AND keeping ads in can only lead to failure, as seen by the ratings. They should just increase the ad count and make it free. That has worked for broadcast television for decades. Ironic that they are trying the cable model when they know damn well that a lot of their customers are trying to cut the cable bill.

Seeing as how I am already paying for Netflix and getting all the shows I want, I honestly cant see how they will convince me to pay for Hulu, especially when they will keep the ads.
