The reviews I've read have been mostly positive citing its more serious tone and time spent focusing on the characters whereas the reviews here have been overwhelmingly negative citing a lack of action. Who knows? I'm probably going to see it even though I haven't really enjoyed too many comic-book character movies since the original Batman. Spiderman was alright, but it didn't do that much for me personally.

I watched it today and it was really well done. I liked it much more than Spiderman. I thought it was going to be corny but it wasn't at all. I am really glad that they had a plot and developed the characters rather than having a little intro and a large amount of action like in Daredevil. Any more action in the Hulk and I probably wouldn't have liked it as much.

Well, I will see how it is tonight. I won 2 tickets from the local radio station. If it sucks, at least the tickets were free.

Just got back from watching it. After having read a thread earlier this week about Hulk being 10 foot tall, jumping up to 3-miles, etc. in the comic book, it helped me to accept the movie much easier. I was comparing the movie Hulk to the TV Hulk and that's not really fair. As a movie based on a comic book, I thought it was pretty cool. From the framed heads and shots to the surreal action scenes, it felt as close to a full motion comic book than any movie I've ever watched that was adapted from a comic. I did feel it was a little long at times, but definitely survivable. Jennifer Connelly needs to put on some pounds and get back to being voluptuous. Don't like the skinny Jenny.

I just came back and:

It Fuggin Rocked.

Some shots of the Hulk was very cheesey, but the rest of those shots really pushed CGI to its limits.

THIS MOVIE OWNS WHOEVER SAYS IT SUCKS.

I just came from the theater and it was frickin awesome. Probably those people bitchin about the movie are the ones that have never read the comic book. Only thing they know about The Hulk is the tv show so they just bitch about everything.

Anyways, the movie was GREAT! Don't listen to people saying it sucked, go watch it! It ROCKS!

While I will say the story lacked something, to say that all the good scenes were in the trailer is BS.

I don't remember saying: "I wonder why Universal isn't happy?"........

Let's see... You didn't bother to READ my posts...

Well I think he read your posts, maybe you didn't read your own damn post? Now go back and read your first post, you are talking about Paramount not being happy? Well as I am sure you meant Universal, you sucked big time!

And for those of you didn't know... there is a big possiblity there will be sequels.. here is a Eric Bana trivia taken from IMDB:

He chose "The Hulk" over several other Marvel Comics movie adaptations that were offered to him.

His deal for "The Hulk" includes an option for two sequels, with substantial salary raises for each film.

Frankly, I would never judge a movie based on an unfinished leaked copy, but that's just me.

I have just returned from seeing it in the theater....the FINAL RELEASE and I can say that it is a little disappointing. It isn't a bad movie but it isn't a grerat movie either and I would have been upset if I had paid to see it but I was at a sneak preview hosted by Hershey's so all is OK.

It seems someone has seen the final release and appearently it isnt' worth paying to see.

Almost all the Hulk shots are in the trailer, and in better order.
I've heard Paramount is raging mad about the leaked movie and
says it's not the final release, but Geez. They'd have to reshoot
the entire thing to make it much different. It looks and plays like
a second rate chopsaki flick. Way too much effort into the fades and
scene angles and no though to dialog, story, or giving us what we
WANT to pay for, THE HULK in all his Raging Glory. I'm devastated.

My prediction. HUGE flop. Massive waste of time and money. Heads
should roll for this one. Big heads in high places.

Is this the workprint you saw? If so, i'm not surprised... workprints are normally unfinished movies... sometimes sound or music are missing, others scenes, in this one, it's obviously the CG wasn't complete. If you look at the battles with the tank, you'll see the Hulk shorts actually fade in and out.

Just got back from the movies. Glad the tickets were free. Don't get me wrong, the movie was OK, Just not as good as it could have been. Oh well.

I thought it was great. I don't know what problem people had with the CG. I thought it was actually better than gollum.

And I thought it was better than Spider-Man. That whole fight against the military sequence was amazing.

Just returned from seeing the film. It was, as expected, awesome. The CG effects were amazing, not cheesy. The action sequences were fantastic, especially the dog fight.

Awesome.

He looks like a cute, little overgrown toddler to me (from the trailers) as several other people have mentioned.

like the matrix and LOTR and even the latest Star Wars, everyone loves to play the basher and say the movies were crap...this looked fake, I could tell it's cgi here and there, etc...

They are movies, and IMO the effects and realism of cgi is amazing considering how fast it's come so far.

In other words I'm basing my opinion off of the movie and you [and those several other people] are basing your opinion off a 2 minute clip. Guess whose opinion is relevant?

Awesome.

People who said it was crappy was watching the workprint... i saw the workprint, and it was soooo obvious that it wasn't complete. There were literally parts were the CG were buggy, and you could tell it was completely unfinished.

I know, It's a 10 foot tall green muscle-bound monster cartoon character. Of course it will register as "fake," pointing out that it looks CG is like pointing out that a ball is round.

the studio execs really shouldn't have released the unfinished cg in the superbowl trailer which people seem to be basing their opinions upon.
