Huh,showing bids on Ebay before the auction is over?

LOL,whats going on at Ebay? Go look at the auctions and its showing all the bids for an item before the auction is over. Wow!! that makes for easy bidding.

Big software glich or did they change the rules? I've never seen this before.

LOL, this could be bad. 🙂

EDIT: wait...on second glance, it says "only actual bids are shown" and not automatic bids up to the person's maximum...so you're only seeing the bids that have actually been reflected on the auction page.

No deal. 🙁

I don't know how it hurts anything, so you get to see what others bid up to now, whereas before you could only see the last bid until the auction closed.

Seems fine to me.

What are you talking about? Please provide link to example.

It would be a huge deal. If you can see the maximum bid a user has on item, bidding the auction up to that price to get a higher value for your item would be extremely easy...

It's only showing their current bid (which is a change from the past like dman said)... if it were showing their max bid for proxy, then that would be bad for all...

If you click to see the bid history, it used to not show the bid amounts until after the end of the auction. However, now it's showing the previous bid amounts while the auction is still going on. However, like others have mentioned above, it doesn't show the max proxy bid that the high bidder put in.

It used to just show a dashed line until the auction was over then it showed all the amounts bid. I'll agree with others that this just shows the bid amount that it took to beat the next highest bid. For example in this pic the bidder might have bid $200.00 but it only took $172.50 to be the high bidder.

I guess if you think about it its really not an advantage, its just strange to see the bid amounts before the auction is over after all these years.
