huh 2004 yamaha bike has 180 hp

you know how fast that bike will be? 180hp on a >500lb bike? 50% of the people who rife these things are going to die within 2 weeks.

How much does that sucker weigh?

379lbs dry weight... i think the Gixxer 1000 is 370... that HP rating is taken at full speed with the ram air effect of course. 😀

Yea they had to come out with that as they are probable tired of Suzuki kicking their butt on the track. I whonder if it meets all the specs to be raced? If so Suzuki will need to up their GSXR 1000

Sept 12... 😀

Personally... i like the R1 more... but now i'm sure both of them will be favorites of people who are accidents waiting to happen. i honestly can't even ride those bikes the way they were meant to be ridden... let alone a 600. but since most of these kids buying them will be only going 185+ on the freeway... i guess that's what they think riding means. 😕

The R1 is badass, no doubt, but MCHP (manufacturer claimed) and RWHP (rear wheel) are two vastly different things.

Yep, I want to see this. 20HP more than my Busa?

Show me.

Edit: this would be about a 40 hp increase from this years bike with the same displacement.

180 at the crank with pressurized air box... even that sounds optimistic though. The 2002 R1 was 152 at the crank if IIRC... but dyno figures hover around more or less 140. MCN Australia says this one is making 172 at the crank with no ram air effect. Whatever it is... i'm sure it'll be competitive with the 03 Gixxer 1000... but Suzuki should have the 04s out on the 12th of this month i think.

Wow, that's gorgeous...I can't wait until I have the extra money to buy my first bike. Knowing me, I'll want to go straight to a V-rod or gixxer, but at least I'm smart enough to start off...less deathwish-ish. 🙂

Before the current GSXR, the YZF was the "Ricers" choice if I'm not mistaken.

FreAk😀

Oh yeah, the term "Ricer" is so retarded.

That is all...
