"Tornado sirens are sounding near the Opryland Hotel, which is now evacuating employees and guests to lower levels of the hotel, according to an employee there. "

It's really amazing how powerful mother nature can be. The NWS has been all over this, so hopefully people have heeded their warnings.

We live in Sellersburg, IN which is in Southern Indiana and had a tornado touch down just a few miles from us about 4:00 today. We was able to watch it for a few miles. The tornado hit the Henryville high school.

This has been a crazy winter. One day talking about multiple tornadoes and the next we are talking about snow.

This is one time I will not bitch about snow you all take care and stay safe!

i like living in the north east
worst weather i have is snow
and that wont destroy your house in the blink of an eye

Drove through it near Carrollton ky. Saw funnel cloud. Major damage from these storms in ky an in. Possible f4 in henrysville in. Nws used the word destructive in the storm warnings. They almost never say that. Normally just damaging.

We have tornado watches now but the biggest issue is likely to be hail tonight.. Unfortunately my kids are a bit worried.

Stay safe everyone.

These destructive storms are one of the reasons I like living where I live. A couple feet of snow is not going to make my house a write off. Tornadoes, hurricanes, floods etc on the other hand will.

For those that are in these areas, stay safe.

Was it alive, I hope?

Yes the baby is alive and has been identified. This was in Salem, IN.

All this is just too close for comfort. We know several people in Henryville and thankfully none of them are hurt.

The tornado was a possible EF4, maybe EF5.

Many reports of baseball sized hail. You see large hail it normally means a tornado is a minute or two away. Stay safe. I was looking for a place to ditch coming home on 71. This was a major storm event for the area. Kudos for big advanced warning this morning.

Downtown Indy got pelted with hail this morning, but is wasn't huge. Maybe half the size of a golf ball, but it was coming down in a downpour.

Poor town of West Liberty in eastern Kentucky got hit by a F2 tornado 2 days ago. Another tornado went right down main street this evening. Reports are still coming in since it's only been 3 hours, but apparently the whole town was leveled and there are multiple fatalities. My wife's best friend's mom lives in West Liberty, but luckily away from town a bit. However, my mother-in-law works right behind the courthouse in West Liberty. No word yet on whether she has a job anymore or not. She was home this afternoon well before the storm rolled through.

Just a rough night for my area. 🙁
