Can't believe IGN screwed up on their website with COD2 I was getting so excited. COD and UO were probably the best games I played, and I still play them.

Can't see why anyone would be excited about Quake 4 after Doom 3 was so bitterly dissappointing. I'm not at all interested in fighting another demon with a chaingun mounted on his sternum or something similarly stupid. I bought AoE III after being impressed by the demo, but there's really very little to the game, the demo skirmish mode lets you build basically every unit building and upgrade that exists in the game, the campaign is so bad it's a joke... Call of Duty II is wait and see could be good but nothing amazing.

FEAR on the other hand is the best thing I've played at least since Half Life 2. In the dark with headphones - you will jump at least a few times. Not obnoxious stuff like a monster popping out behind you in doom3, I'm talking about simply knocking an object off a desk as you pass by in a tense part of the game can be enough because of the atmosphere. The AI is simply unmatched by any game ever released, even on normal they are the smartest bad guys ever put in a game. My major knock against the game would have been only two kinds of bad guys, until I fought my first ninja... Play it for yourself.

Civ4 will make me unproductive for months...

I heard Quake 4 was different then D3's Lab Level fest. More variety, outside atmospheres, and loads of bad guys. The only thing I heard bad about Quake 4 was it's AI. Which is sometimes what makes or breaks a game.

Uh
Ill be getting FEAR, Quake 4, and COD 2

Going to pick up fear and quake 4 in a few minutes.

FEAR should not remind you of doom 3 by the way, quake 4 should, as its based off the same engine.

What he said ^. I'm not worried about FEAR being crappy, but I'd worry about Quake 4 myself.

He's not talking about how it looks... he's talking about the "scary" plot.

Whats with COD2 release date today...

no matter where I go, they all say the 25th of october, or later.. I'd get it tonight if it was actually out.

where's the bittorrent links? j/k

Looking forward to Call of Duty 2. I love the first, and it's one of the few games I actually finished.

civ 4
oh yes, it will be mine.

I dread the release of civ 4.

The 3am "just one more turn" syndrome isn't compatible with.. well, with anything. 😛

Just got Quake 4 at BestBuy, so I guess that completes my game shopping list along with FEAR, until Prey comes out.

Now if only I had a computer to play it on...

Im afraid of CIv 4. So many sleepless nights. Turn based games will be the fall of me. Im still playing Rome Total war and RTW BI.

Now I can live with FEAR. Good horror shooter. Only problem is there is no hardware that can really process it's physics smoothly enough.

I just got the DVD-ROM editions of both Quake 4 and F.E.A.R. So far both games look good and play well on my system.
