gah, people that can't make a decent arguement any other way. gee lets shock people and hope for an emotional response. :p

lots of things are grisly, it doesn't mean much. take a picture of a babies bloody slimy head coming out of a distorted vagina and blow it up huge. looks pretty nasty too:p

my main problem with these groups is that they waste so much time and effort into "saving the children" when they could better spend their time saving the ones that are already born. millions suffering, starving, and thats just americans. but wait, helping kids that are already born is a messy hard task, easier to picket and post up stuff. keeps hands clean.

it just seems like once your out, they don't care. not really anyways, more important that you were born at all. thats all that matters. their priorities are badly misplaced.

The anti-abortion crowd is no different from any other group trying to link their cause to some other human tragedy. Yet I must support their right to display material unfit for general consumption but consistent with their endeavor. They clearly want to shock. If they wanted to move reasonable people to their position they would show pictures of the thousands of American children they've adopted since Roe v Wade . . . The truth is many people are enamored with the crusade but have no real understanding of what they should be advocating.

As for the alleged Christian Right that typically bellows about its pro-life credentials . . . we were allegedly a 'Christian' country when blacks were enslaved, treated as property, animals, or worse. The Jews were slaughtered by Lutherans, Catholics, and other people of 'faith'.

The million plus abortions in America every year are all human tragedies. But they deserve no more attention than the million plus episodes of child abuse in America every year. When the hypocrites in Christ's Army ever exhibit a scintilla of consistency in caring for their fellow man, abortion will be outlawed in America. Why? Because when we are united in caring for all people born, it becomes easier to justify prohibition of harming those applying for entry in such a wonderful world.

The politicians, the CEO's and the clergy keep us fighting with each other over stupid social issues like this, to keep us from seeing what their REALLY up to - ransacking our economy.

Now while I don't quite agree with abortion in every case, I also don't agree with putting up huge photos of the piles of dead people in concentration camps, black slaves hanging from trees, and lots of aborted fetuses.

At least don't put them up next to the door to the dining hall.

Some anti abortion group has been at my school for the past few days with massive photos (each one must be about 6' tall, going in long rows of 2 on top of each other) of dead things. Cops are out now watching over it. I guess they expect it to get rowdy if they dont keep everything under control.

For an example of a photo:

Click here (warning, not for the weak stomached) (1.6 megs, high quality scan)

Now just imagine all those photo's except printed out 6x6 feet and such and you have an idea of what's going on here.

you may not like it, but they do have a right as everyone does to protest peacfully without causing damage to public or private property BTW I get a 404 on that page.

Linky no worky. You deleted the pic from the parent directory. Weak, man! Go big or stay home! :p

I've seen many of those kinds of pics though. Loonies are loonies no matter what they believe in. Right to lifers that shoot doctors and blow up clinics are just a kooky as kooky gets. When I see them standing on the corner making a lot of damn noise, I'll pull up, roll down my window and say, "excuse me, I'm looking for Planned Parenthood...can you tell me where it is?" , just to see how they react. I get a kick out of it.

Before I was pregnant with my baby boy, I was of the belief that it's my body my choice. When I got pregnant, accidentally, everything changed! I could'nt imagine not having Alex in my life now. I guess my point is it's easy to say abort when you hav'nt gone through the experience of having a child of your own. I do realize that there are a lot of reasons to have an abortion but until you are actually in the position, pregnant and confused...it's hard to have an educated opinion.

One thing I find interesting is that it's a fetus when it's going to be aborted but it's a baby when it's going to be kept.

Okay one last thing, at 19 weeks when I had my ultrasound Alex had a beating heart, a brain and lungs all of his fingers and toes and he jumped when the ultrasound tech put the scanner on my stomach.

Not trying to change any minds just putting a personal experience out there, take it for what it's worth.

I agree with 0roo, get a picture of a baby coming out of a birth canal and stick it up right next to them.

i think you're losing the "choice" part of the pro-choice side. nobody is telling people to abort or give birth... (except the pro-lifers :p) it's about choice. so it isn't really necessary to know what it's like to be pregnant, since all options are open if you are pro-choice.

i just don't see how the confused state of mind your hormones put you in lends credibility to a pro-life argument. you were compelled to make one choice, but i don't see why that means we should take other choices away.
