Eesh..

Now while I don't quite agree with abortion in every case, I also don't agree with putting up huge photos of the piles of dead people in concentration camps, black slaves hanging from trees, and lots of aborted fetuses.

At least don't put them up next to the door to the dining hall.




Some anti abortion group has been at my school for the past few days with massive photos (each one must be about 6' tall, going in long rows of 2 on top of each other) of dead things. Cops are out now watching over it. I guess they expect it to get rowdy if they dont keep everything under control.

"in your face" efforts like this are about as useful as Jehovah's witness knocking on my door during dinner. In short it makes me want to smack them and doesn't help their cause at all.

Unless that child has a horrible disease or was an extreme rape case of some kind, ABORTION IS MURDER.

I highly encourage any 'it's my body' pro-choice people to view this photo. Accidental pregnancy DOES NOT justify abortion.

I disagree. I think that the modern world has American's so jaded, that it takes something extraordinary to change people's minds about things. With all the information we have, we form narrow minded opinions about things. Then when confronted with new information, like the fetus' hands next to the dime, perhaps we'll reconsider our teenage abortions. On the other hand this image is not appropriate for viewing by young children, and shouldn't be used in a public protest, etc.

Get 6' tall porn posters and put it up in front of the anti-abortion group's pictures. If they find it offensive, tell them you'll take it down when they take thiers down.

I think they just make the opposite point. Look at that fetus. It fits on a dime. I probably spit out more human cells in a day :D

some of these people were at UCLA last year, all i remember about it was these annoying large pictures of dead babies and things that really played out the "shock" value of abortion. There was little or no value to the pictures to facilitate discussion, it was a total wack job in terms of making people aware.

what ended up happening was that people that were pro-life were offended by the gratuitous displays of dead babies and the pro-choice people were offended. the rest of us just ignored them.

Fine with me. The more anti-choice people have protests with posters like this, harass people at clinics, set up fake clinics and kill doctors, the more they will marginalize themselves and actually undercut their own cause. In the meantime, I'll be volunteering my time and money with pro-choice PACS to keep abortion safe and legal. Everybody only gets one vote regardless of how loudly they scream about something.

for all of you who say abortion is bad, Have you adopted a kid? Abortions are done for 1 of two reasons. 1. medical problems, or 2. YOU DON'T WANT THE KID. ok you can put your kid up for adoption, but if the mother doesn't want the kid you think she's gonna take good care of her self while pregnant? Most likly not, thus the growing fetus will develop some medical problems.

I was going to start a thread tonight asking about this, but this looks like a logical place to ask :)

The local radio station here we listen to in the labs has this guy who does these anti-abortion ads every week. This week, he was advocating that women should NOT have that test done where they test the amniotic (sp!) fluid to make sure the baby is healthy. He made it sound like the only reason the doctor wants it done is to cover his ass if something is wrong.

Why do the pro-life people disagree with that test? It seems like nothing but helpful to me.

Back on topic, we have those people come to our campus every now and then. They got in a fight last time with some people and were removed by security. What really got me is that they had little kids, no more then 5-6, walking around handing out literature. At that age, they can't make up their own minds, so they were the perfect candidates for "brainwashing" by these idiots

Because if analysis reveals the kid had some kind of chromosomal abnormality and will be born deformed, retarded, etc this could be a reason to abort the fetus.

I think people should get a check box on their tax returns that says

- 20% of your after tax earnings will be used to care for unwanted children (from birth through incarceration, etc)

Then we will see if the pro-life (anti-choice) zealots really care, or just like to tell others what to do.
