OK here is my situation. I got a cable modem and I wanted to use WinME's ICS to share between my two computers. To do this I connected the first NIC in my comp to the cable modem and it worked. So then I installed a second NIC and connected that to my hub. Then I connected the NIC in my 2nd comp to the hub.
This is where the problems began. I can't go through them all because every time I changed something I got a new problem. Basically, every time ICS didn't work. And many times the net wouldn't even work on my first comp.
Then yesterday the net wouldn't work on my first comp even with only one NIC in the comp. So I removed everything from my networking control panel and still no go. The protocols won't even bind to the network card. Instead of TCP/IP -> name of card it says justs TCP/IP!!
This is getting extremely frustrating. Windows 98 netowkring was so simple of course I only had one NIC in the comps back then. Shouldn't Win ME be easier? Anyone have any ideas on what I should do to try and get things back up again? I've managed to get the cable working on the second comp but its a compaq and only has one PCI slot so it cant share the connection. UGH. Should I try Win2k? Any suggestions??
Thanks all,
