Also, California isn't going to 'fall into the ocean'. Please read up on plate tectonics. The ignorance in this thread is making my head hurt.

All of you who keep dissing california live in some floorstain of a town, your jealousy is not well hidden. You cant just generalize an entire state (and if any state, california), it really makes you sound ignorant.

ps- how will you feel looking back on your comments next winter if thousands of Americans were to die?

Why on earth would I be jealous of a liberal socialist state. If Hollywood and San Francisco were completely destroyed I would honestly be happy.

I believe that if you were to spend the rest of eternity sucking off Satan you'd be honestly happy..and FFMFathead would be jealous!

Seizemologists (sp?) have a terrible track record. I read an article where they were like 95% sure that an earthquake would happen somewhere within like 3 days. Everyone got paniced and stuff but the quake never showed up.

I wouldn't feel all that bad if all those Americans would die from an earthquake. There have been earthquakes in the past and there will be them in the future. If you want to live your life dangerously and hang out in a dangerous area, you won't get any tears from me if something bad happens. No one is forcing these people to stay.

Great loss of life won't happen when the Earthquakes hit California, it will happen when they hit the East Coast or the Midwest.

You're crazy. There isn't a giant fault line running basically the length of the Mississippi River. No danger here....

Edit: So I was a bit off on the direction it runs. Sue me.

Mir Ali, professor and chairman of the architecture structures division, said the fault line covers Missouri, Kentucky and Southern Illinois. Nichols said this fault line is called a characteristic earthquake fault line, which becomes active about every 400 years.

Ever hear of the New Madrid Fault?

I thought there are a fair number of faults in the NE region and that if they became active we'd be in a world of hurt here.

I doubt there is a place on Earth "immune" from earthquakes. They may be very unlikely, but they could strike just about anywhere. (Especially with that "earthquake ray" NASA has orbiting the planet. *puts on tin foil beanie*)

All you knuckleheads that are wishing LA fall into the ocean will be damned to hell when you realize you won't have any more porn to j*ck-off to or have movies to attend with your grandmother on Saturdays.
:disgust:

well that sucks, my parents are moving to LA because my dad found a new job there. Regardless, if California DOES sink into the ocean you can prepare for a mass catastrophe from across the lake in Hawaii, Japan, and other islands.

Something like this will put a serious hurt on the US and world economy.

I think I am the only non Cali resident who doesn't hate Cali in these forums. 😀 I've never even been there but it seems like a pretty diverse, interesting place and I would jump at the chance to visit.

Actually the plate that CA is on is moving north-west. So CA will never "fall into the ocean" it will simply get a bit colder.

Science and logic have no place in this thread, it's meant for ignorant dumbasses.

oH! Sorry. If you saw that 10.5 movie, THAT EXACTLY what's going to happen, Sept 5th this year. If it doesn't I'm sure the Bush Administration will fake it or make it happen.

........and then alot later it will get alot hotter as it is subducted under the edge of the plate that the Aleutian Islands are forming on and will be remelted:evil:

Well, that's not for a few years now. By then CA will be predominately Republican.

Funny how people outside of California are so afraid of earthquakes. Here in California, we find them fun. It's always "did you feel that Earthquake?!"

I'd rather take an occasional earthquake then sh1t like below freezing weather, tornados, etc.

I read this earlier where some guy predicted a larger earthquake to hit before a certain date and said there was a 10% chance. I can say the same thing without any training what so ever. In fact I'll one up the guy. I predict a large earthquake somewhere in Southern California before November 1 and I give it a 12.5% chance of happening.

Well, I certainly AIN'T looking forward to being sent back to the stone age anytime soon.

I better get that hot air balloon prepped just in case! 😉

There are dangers anywhere you live.

On the southeast coast you have hurricanes. In the midwest you have tornados. In the dry regions you have rampant fires. In the mountains you have volcanos. Etc. You're not 'safe' anywhere. Just remember, you can be protected from ALL disasters if you 'drop and cover.' 🙂

I've never lived in California but I've been there three times since I moved to Arizona and I think California is a nice state. I might live there some day.
