Like others said - doesn't look intentional. Jax was up, what would it have helped to clothesline him? He just meant to hit him, that's all. Hope the guy is ok though.

When they say it looks like a cloths line that's exactly what it looks like, I'm sure you've seen that in wrestling.

I can't see how it's NOT intended btw, his arm was in a swinging motion.

He intended to use his arm to deliver a hit without a doubt. But whether he intended a shoulder check or a body block(legal hit) versus a clothesline (illegal hit) is what is in question. To me it simply looks like the timing of the hit was off, which caused it to be a clothesline instead of a cheap shot.

BTW, this really isn't a clothesline like you see in wrestling where his arm is fully extended and he proceeds to run it across the guys head. His arm is bent towards him like hes going to deliver a shoulder check or body block.

yeah... he was running past and not even looking at the receiver. he could've easily gone for a traditional tackle

Do you watch games in the NFL? These types of hits are a favorite amongst people in the secondary. It's to let the receiver know that, hey you can try to go ahead and make a good catch but you're going to be in a world of pain coming down.

I just saw it again on NFL Primetime. I'm sorry but that was a total clothesline. He deserves exactly what he gets from the league :|

I agree, that's a total clothesline, he didn't really try to grab him or anything...just lunged at him with his left arm extended.

Total dirty play. The way he is facing, his reaction after, etc. I hope he receives a suspension. Why did the refs not eject him immediately?

Oh yea, and the reaction of his two teammates, one of whom "kicked" Robert while he was lying on the ground.

They did.

I meant when they called the penalty. I was waiting for the ref to announce it at the end of the penalty.

yah, it looked really bad but it really looked like a mistimed hit as well. Not intentional.

I have a hard time believing Darius would do anything intentional like that. He has always been a HARD hitter dating back to his days at Syracuse but always solid fundamental hits. I got to meet him a few times back then and he's a class act. Even as just a college kid he's actually the legal guardian to his little brothers. Not the type to want to intentional rip someone's head off over a football game.

My opinion exactly. If thats an instant sooner it's still a crushing hit, but not a clothesline. Cornerbacks and safeties love delivering these kinds of hits instead of traditional tackling. It's simply unfortunate it was mistimed and almost cost a player his career.

the better "hit" in the game was when favre was passing the ball back up to the line of scrimmage and ended up nailing an official in the head...it was great :D

yeah i was watching the game and seen this live. That was a really nasty hit.

Even a few of his team mates were yelling at him for it.

What amazes me is he still had the ball on landing! He took a nasty hit and landing but still had the ball. that was a great catch.
