HUGE 'Dead Ad' next week at CompUSA; dist. by e-mail

I heard CompUSA is having a huge 'Dead Week Ad' next week. The actual advertisement was e-mailed out to 30,000,000 people, but I didn't receive it. Savings of 10-50% INSTANTLY on a lot of stuff (not crap). Sorry for not having the details, but has anyone received it or know much more about it?

P.S. 'Dead week ad' means there's no big national advertisement for the week, generally resulting in slower or "dead" sales.

Maybe it has to do with people spending money durning the tax free weekend on clothes and other school supplies.

Maybe it means there won't be an advertisement in your local paper(no ads this week = dead week of ads). You'll only know of the deals via email. Anything to bump that buyextreme crap off the front page.

Frankly, I think what's good is 40% off Memorex stuff, but the other deals don't look that appealing (unless you're looking for a digital camera over 300 bucks). 10% off some of the items that don't find sales a lot may be decent.

Edit: 40% off on Memorex stuff is only for CDs and DVDs according to the printout PDF's though on the email, it says 4o% off on all Memorex Media (ie print the email if you have it in order to get flash for cheap 🙂)

Mohammed, please feel free to copy/paste all the stuff I posted onto your post for the convenience of readers.

160GB, 8MB cache drive for $99 isn't anything to sneeze at if you're looking for one. Or a 17" LCD for $299 - it's a Kogi L7EH. Anyone know about these? Might be worth looking into...

A few weeks ago, I got the Maxtor 160 Ultra for $80 from Depot after $20 coupon and $50 rebate.
The thing is that Cusa doesn't have coupons (that I know of), hence the deal isn't as sweet.

If you need a drive that's not quite as big, see if you can get a Maxtor 120 Ultra 8MB for $60 from Office Depot 🙂

If the LCD is a quality component it should be a good deal too.

BTW, I did round the #'s to avoid typing up tons of ***.99's etc.

noticing that sandisk memory is 20% off? edit: 25% even better
that beats the after rebates this week, if'n they don't raise the price...
that tdk dvd rebate goes to white bear lake, mn... doesn't tdk have a lot of extras with their stuff?

I just have to say that many Sandisk SD128 and SD256 cards were very error-prone and messed up a lot. They say that even with the products that work (CF usually), the read/write is much slower (around 1/3 or 1/4) the speed of other brands.

Personally I don't know though, as I avoid them and look to Memorex and Lexar for flash when possible. Memorex products are 40% off, hint hint 😉

i got a lot of memorex, they alright
but people beef about their products also
i had/have sandisk sm/cf in various configs
i was talking mem stick anyway, but didn't want to mention it and have the lurkers in my area buy them up from me 🙁
how do rebates print out at compusa? like best buy now?
edit: big cards write slower anyway -- the sandisk 80mb i got from od was the fastest i ever had (where is my baby?!! 🙁 augh)

The Kogi monitor looked sweet when I was there last week, good looking display, well built with 20ms response time. That is nothing to sneeze at for $300. My only problem is I hate MIR's.

That is only 40% off the Memorex media, not the drives 😀

I was thinking about that DVD-RW for $167.... Till I re read the ad.

CompUSA currently has the Samsung R255H (T-mobile) free (with instant rebate)...that'd be hot with the 20" TV 🙂

The pic in the email stated that there's a 40% off on ALL memorex media (it stated nothing regarding 40% off on only CD and DVD media).

40% off any flash (CF, SD, etc) should make for a very good deal.

This is the pic in the email that mentions 40% off all memorex media, and you may be able toe get some cheap flash with a YMMV.

Edit: hosting pic on bbzzdd now, hope Skoorbie's ok with me using the bandwidth 🙂
