Huge computer slow down problem

I was having a problem with a floppy drive on my new computer so I tried it on my old one. It didnt work on that one either. Now my old computer only runs at about 1/1000th its normal speed. I havent even tried booting to windows yet. I dont know what the floppy drive did to it. Anyone have any idea whats wrong with the computer?
 
wow...no list of components,OS, floppy brand/type, etc. ...please list allows others to mull over the trouble..when did the previous FDD work properly last?
 
I just bought the floppy drive. Im not sure if it did work. I connected it to my new comp wrong. Now it just makes a lot of noise. I tried connecting it to my old comp and it made the same noise. Then I noticed the old comp would run extremly slow. The old comp is a p200 with 80megs.
